Lol why is that? Apple aren't exactly known for being innovative or for introducing groundbreaking tech. They're good at buying companies with new tech, refining it, and rebranding it as an apple product or new tech.
Yup, it's not like Apple introduced anything new of their own like the iPod, iPhone, iPad, etc.

No, apple didn’t invent the Qi charger. But this would’ve been the classic apple move, to take a flawed product and perfect it to the way how it should’ve been in the first place. :(

It would not have been perfect though.

Flat style pads are impractical.

They should be fast charge capable with iPhones, not damage the battery, & on a stand, so you can use your product whilst it’s fast charging...again without it overheating.

Apple will absolutely not scrap AirPower. "BeeGood", prepare to join the long line of haters who were wrong about Apple, including Michael Dell and Steve Ballmer.

Rumor is the store MIGHT get updated with AirPower today at midnight Cupertino time. Tomorrow is the last business day of the quarter. Make it happen Tim.

LOL, really? You might want to check your sources.

I guess I was wrong about Apple quietly killing it, but it’s dead nonetheless.

And I’m not a hater BTW, I would have gladly bought one...when they announced it 18 months ago. What good does it do me to sit around for a year and a half waiting for a theoretical product when real ones exist and meet my needs right now?

RIP AirPower. Meanwhile, my XS Max and AirPods are currently charging on a pad I bought a long time ago.

Were any of those the first music player, cell phone, or tablet? No.

I'm a fan of a lot that Apple does but being innovative isn't something they've been known for in a while. And all those things you mentioned were comprised of a lot of tech built by other companies that they purchased. Nothing wrong with that but let's not act like they are the ones developing and engineering groundbreaking tech very often these days. They refine and perfect tech and they're very good at it .

I REALLY want an AirPower and I have been looking at MacRumors.com and apple.com everyday hoping they will release it.

Who else really wants one?

Come on Apple, release it already!

I really wanted one myself and I too, have been checking MR religiously for the day it would be released.

I’m very, very upset that it got cancelled today, and even more so that’s I bought the AirPods 2 with wireless charging. I’ll be returning it for the regular AirPods 2.

I feel you man. Especially with these AirPods coming out now and the mentioning of the AirPower on the package it’s CRAZY frustrating. :(

What does that have to do with innovative or groundbreaking tech? Did those have a rather deep and noticeable effect on the industries they were in? Now that would be a relevant question. And the answer is more than well known when it comes to that question. (And, even getting back to the "first" question, as I recall at least something like the iPad would fall into that category.)

I'm not questioning that those were great and even groundbreaking products when they were released. I said Apple is no longer known for that. When's the last time they released a product or even a piece of tech that wasn't already an existing product or technology. I would say FaceID and even that is just a refined version of existing tech, buts it's a big enough step forward that I would count that. But besides that what?

What was said wasn't really that, limited to recently or anything like that, but a very generalized statement:

And if you want to talk about recent innovation or leap in technology, aside from even Face ID that you yourself brought up, how about a simple to use and quick ECG and heart monitor that basically anyone can have and use anytime that is just part of what they are using already (a watch)?

Understandable but next iPhone may have wireless charging on the back if you
Might care about that

Yea I think that will happen, but I don’t intend to upgrade my XR so soon. The battery in these new AirPods should hopefully give me enough juice to last me until 2020 hopefully.

Just buy one of many other wireless pads on the market to charge your AirPods ....... strange logic (IMHO of course )

The only "feature" of AirPower that attracts me is that animation LOL. Guess I don't really want one, I just, once again, being booboo the fool'd by Apple's gimmick.

Why would you pay the ridiculous asking price?

Time to sit back & analyse why you’re so desperate to hand over money to Apple.

Sucked into their hype train I think.

Nope. I want Apple quality, design and the ability to charge all my devices with one cable and power outlet.

Time to sit back and realize that people have different opinions than yourself.
