As reported by 9to5Mac, AirTag Hermès is currently unavailable for purchase from Apple or directly from the Hermès website. The reasoning behind the unavailability remains unknown.

Apple's AirTags Hermès line features three separate styles, an AirTag with a Hermès keyring, bag charm, and luggage tag. All styles feature the standard AirTag with a removable backplate but engraved with "Hermès Apple AirTag." Each style of AirTag holder is made with high-quality leather and starts at $299 and goes up to $449 for the luggage tag.

The 9to5Mac article about this says:

"One 9to5Mac reader believes this may be over a quality issue he experienced with his Hermès Key Ring, which fell apart in his pocket"

He said this: "I pulled my keys out of my pocket and was surprised to find only the Hermes Airtag and its strap in my hand. Not exactly confidence inspiring. It had had a posh life, with no notable stress or harm. At first I thought it had just come undone but, upon closer examination, it was clear that the bottom of its metal post had unscrewed, at some point, and eventually separated."

same thing happened to me. but I (accidentally) kept it in my pocket while working out pretty hard. lesson learned, but it is very disconcerting.

Nothing screams, "This Item is Being Tracked." More than a flashy leather holder. The first thing any crook will do when steeling an item with this attached is remove it and slip it into someone else's pocket or leave it in their Uber sending the owner of the expensive holder and purse...luggage...briefcase...etc. On a wild goose chase.

Some people have much more money than brains.
