Anyone put an AirTag on their AirPods or AirPods Pro? I’m thinking about how to attach one to my AirPods Pro, but I like having a smaller case on them. I’m considering one with a little loop on it so I can attach an AirTag. I misplace them from time to time and the AirTag will really help.

Any other ideas?

Yep..

No they dont.. they piggy back off the iphone or what they are connected to.. If you lose them out of range of your iPhone you are screwed.. also they dont really connect well to you phone in range and make for a terrible Finding experience..
That's just not true.

I thought the only real Find My functionality Airpods had was when outside the case
I have only got it to work when connected to a device that can update find my. The best I have got is the last location they were connected to the phone, the presumption seems to be that this is where you lost them. Then when coming back to that location, and trying to get them to play a sound, they rarely "just connect" and you never know if they are actually there, or lost somewhere else..

In the real world it just doenst seem to work.

Im not sure about single Airpod, I didnt think there was any tracking on a single airpod.

Yes, but where does it say it can use other people's devices who are part of the Find My network? They just mention the Find My app..

it required the connected device to hop onto the Find My network. It cant do it all by itself..

Im prepared to be proved wrong..

Single AirPod plays a sound to help you find it when you drop it

Yeah that says it shows the last place they were online
Exactly! Thats the biggest annoyance.. I used them at work, put them in my pocket and then had some errands to run and left it in the center console of my car over the weekend. Monday morning I went to grab them before work and couldn't find them..I tracked them and it showed me they were in my office. I got there, and they weren't there. It took me another 2 days to find them in my car an I was getting ready to buy another set. I"m hoping the better tracking is built into the next gen, but for now I'll attach an AirTag.

Wouldn't that be redundant?
I have lost them numerous times in my house and it takes me a LONG time to find them. They only show where they last connected to the phone...like when they were used. The audio sound when in the case us barely audible when sitting right next to me, let alone if they are in the couch after falling out of my pocket.

All of that said…Find My sucks in the AirPods…so not redundant.

EXACTLY why the AirPods need something more…like an AirTag.

I’d hope that every Apple device announced from now with Bluetooth can be part of the crowdsourced Find My network. If I’m not mistaken, offline Macbooks are, they don’t have or need a U1 for this.
FOR SURE!!!

The MacBooks do work with WiFi and last location connected…but same thing, no actual tracking.
