Wonder when they'll release it. Likely WWDC but could be a random drop too? If they drop iPhone 9 it may also come with a few other things?
I imagine it won’t be released until people are allowed to go outside. Right now my lost keys that I haven’t needed in 3 weeks are the least of my worries

Release the already! I would like some more locators, but don’t want to buyt any more Tiles.

I wish the watch did this now when walking away from the connected phone... There are too many times in my own life where that would have been incredibly helpful.

great for stalking people also, just tape one under someones car and you will always know where they are
“Great” is probably a stretch.
Last part needs this addition: if they have an iPhone... and only while they’re driving their car... then once they park, you’ll get intermittent alerts of the parked car location whenever someone walks by that owns an iPhone.

Just release them already!!! :D

Do these types of devices (e.g. Tile, Trackr, etc.) really deliver value to customers? Does anyone here have any praise for gadgets like these?

I bought a Tile quite some time ago - just to experiment with it - and it has been a very underwhelming device. Perhaps I don't experience the problem that these types of devices aim to solve. I hope Apple delivers something more substantial than the gadgets from Tile. These things just look like e-waste to me.
I am totally on board with the idea. I tried Trackr and the batteries kept drowning all the time, after a few days only. Replaced them many times and got worse. In the end I was never able to solve this issue, even with customer support.

I am placing my hope in Apple for releasing a more reliable version of trackers. I'd be happy to use some for some important stuff (wallet, bag, bicycle).

Does this just not strike you as weird to anyone? Why would the team that produces instructional videos have access to pre-release hardware or internal software builds?

I mean unless Apple is conducting a company wide beta test of these things...

Tiles, Tiles, buy used Tiles... 3 for 2, just like new...

Ok, here, just take 'em.

We have four Tile Pros for our keys and they helped several times. (We're really bad at putting them at a certain place and the usually end up under a letter or between the groceried now and then)

I had one of the first gen from another company, but they were basically useless as they weren't loud enough. The Pros changed that, they can be really loud. So we tried them and don't want to miss them (not necessarily from Tile, though). Saves us the part where you get angry about your better half for not knowing where he/she put those keys while you need the car (we don't fancy huge key rings or cloning of every key for everyone).

The thrid gen from Apple should have the ability to actually locate them without making them beep. And Apple might be a more trustable company than Tile in terms of privacy.

Maybe once a year when my keys go missing. Better value is to tape it to the back of your tv remote.

I don't care if it was truly an accident or a thinly disguised leak - I am just really wanting to get a couple of them to put on my carbon fiber bikes!

You misplace your bikes?

I wanna put an AirTag on my cat

This would be the best use of AirTag.

Every time I see the word “AirTags” I think of skin tags. There’s gotta be a better name.

I like these 'Easter eggs' Apple leaves in.

The thought of tags flying through the air is not a comfortable thought.
