Seriously apple, what the hell?

How hard can it be to get an alarm app to work right? Also after being shamed a couple of times you would think they would get a couple guys to fix this thing. People do rely on this you know?

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8C148 Safari/6533.18.5)

I wonder what excuse Steve Jobs will use this time? Maybe deny that there is a problem?

I like this - I am always late for work and now have an excuse.

I'm sure you're kidding, but a bug in iOS 4 hardly constitutes as a good excuse for being late to work. ;)

My DroixX handled my 2011 alarm just fine it seems. :D

Just calm down, it will eventually get fixed, Steve Jobs once said: “We’re not perfect. Phones are't perfect.” now, I guess Alarms aren't perfect either. Haha

Same here. I deleted the old alarm and put a new one and no dice.

Edit: Looks like you have to make the alarm a recurring alarm for it to work.

Please don't tell that to my boss. I new all the excuses I can get. I read somewhere it starts working properly by January 3rd.

If any of the rampant whiners on this post would take the time to read the lead article on our hosts opening web page they would have seen that ,yes, this is in fact a non issue. after January 3, 2011 it will work just fine without any input from anyone.

Anyone else like TJone who plans to use this as an excuse for being late to work is out of luck. I'll bet their bosses have the intelligence to know the truth about this non-issue and will be waiting with a pink slip for anyone foolish enough to use this as an excuse.

In case you could not tell I was kidding. I work on a flexible schedule anyways and can get to work whenever I want so it is not an issue for me especially since it seems not to be a problem after 1/3 as people have mentioned.

My alarm worked yesterday (1/1) at 4:30 am... today both mine and my fiancees failed to go off.

Apple's response to this was completely unacceptable. Right now, I'm sitting at the Minneapolis airport after paying $460 for a flight on Southwest to replace the United flight that I missed because my iPhone alarm didn't go off. I need to get back to California by tomorrow, and there were no more open United flights today. If I set an alarm on my iPhone, I expect it to go off. I would expect this from an Android phone, but not from Apple. Why didn't Apple send an email to all customers who had registered iPhones alerting them of this issue? Normal people don't read Engadget or Cnet, and can't be expected to know about Apple's bad software.

Mine went off ok at 6am yesterday. Checking it today tho, it's stopped working.

I need to go buy a cheap alarm clock to make sure I'm up at 6am tomorrow.
