I can confirm my three past non-recurring alarms didn't go off this morning. Thank God I made a recurring alarm last night.

The funny thing is mine was doing it a week ago... I thought it was the jailbreak I had on 4.1... So I decided to unjailbreak and update to the new firmware... My alarm worked for about 2 days and quit working again..kinda pissed off about it now

Apple spokesperson Natalie Harrison confirmed to Macworld that Apple is aware of the problem. "We're aware of an issue related to non repeating alarms set for January 1 or 2," Harrison said. "Customers can set recurring alarms for those dates and all alarms will work properly beginning January 3."

Wrong!

was right for me. had the issue on 1st and 2nd, fine today.

Alarms I created prior to Jan 1st do not work. Any alarms that I create both recurring and non recurring beginning today (Jan 3rd) work as they should.

Before bed last night (after midnight) I turned my already-set-up nonrecyrring alarms on. They DID NOT go off this morning. As a result my kids were late for school and I smell bad.

Alarm went off for me on first and second, did not go off for me this morning.. What in the world.

Late for work today, both my wife and I, thanks apple....

Lol. Really dude? Nevermind the fact that this has been a known issue before today and the day before and the day before that - you still insisted on using the alarm feature?

Not to mention you're entrusting your phone alone to wake you up? Ever heard of an alarm clock? You know, those great devices that sit on the table next do your bed?

Seems people just look for reasons to complain. Start taking responsibility for your own actions and stop blaming others.

At least you didn't miss the t time in your gold tournament like that man did last summer!

My wife and I both have recurring alarms to wake us up for work. Neither worked this morning. Hers popped up on the screen but did not vibrate or audibly alert her. Mine began the audible alert and sounded for half a second, then the vibrate and audible alert stopped but the message was still on the screen. Luckily I was already awake, but a very strange problem nonetheless.

what an ill thought out post.

i dont have an alarm clock, and why should i invest in purchasing one when there is one that SHOULD ALREADY WORK on my phone?

also, people are not glued to the internet (especially over the christmas holidays), so not everyone knows about this flaw. I only found out about this last night infact.

i cant believe people are actually defending Apple for this horrendous error!

When it comes to apple issues, commonsense and logic flies out the window when arguing with fanboys.
Ever since I started using the iPhone I have come to realise that expecting a rational debate is wishful thinking.
I don't even know why you are surprised that people are defending apple, let's just ignore the fact that other phone makers for over 15yrs somehow managed to develop an alarm that goes off all day everyday irrespective of the year or day, so buying a second backup alarm clock is really redundant

Really dude!!!!
Known issue ok, but it was announced by Jobs, yesterday or the day before that there will be no more issues with the stupid alarm, starting Monday Jan 3.
And I want to use the alarm on my iphone, if you do not like it keep your ill thoughts to yourpoorself.
So you are saying I should have an alarm clock on my table, and my iphone and one more back up alarm, and I should call my family night before to call me in the morning to wake me up, in case these 3 options all fail....
Complain?
Alarm clock on iphone is an alarm clock, that is the same great device that you put on your table next to your bed ;)

Yea you should do that, minus having your family call to wake you up. LOL

I have two Alarm clocks in my room. One close to me and one far away enough that I have to get out my bed to turn off. I also have a very old Nokia phone that I use as nothing but an extra alarm clock and it works great.

I use the Alarm Clock Pro app and it didn't ring for me this morning and made me late for the first day back to school

Now I have a timer and 2 other alarms ready :D

I am surprised. Date/time programming is pretty low level stuff. You'd have thought that programmers today would be cognizant of 'Y2K'esque programming bugs and code accordingly.

Maybe they let an intern write the alarm clock program.

I set my alarm for 9am last night, and it did not go off this morning.
