I'm not defending him, i just think that you automatically see this 12 year old girl as a princess. She may be a total ass towards him and treat him like a piece of s***. Don't think im saying yeah more power too him, but you only hear one side of the story, if that, and you just fill in the rest with some fairy-tale princess daughter.

And by the way, 100% of parents cannot be perfect 100% of the time. Sometimes, things are said that aren't meant. It may also be what he meant, but maybe at another time, on another day, he wouldn't have said such things to his daughter and kept his cool.

Not understanding his daughter or his ex-wife's attitudes towards him, I'm gonna give him a break. If Kim was capable of releasing this tape rather than keeping it private, then I'm sure I am also capable of hating her (if I was in his situation) and thinking that she's a bit evil.

You learn something on MR each day until reading this thread I'd never heard of Alec Baldwin though I was pretty sure he wasn't related to James Baldwin (the famous one).

I personally think this whole thing is being blown way out of proportion. Can all of you honestly sit there and say you've never had horrible blowouts with family members that you would prefer not be taped and spread across the not?

This isn't a matter of if a parent "should" yell at their child like that. I think we all know the answer, but let's not all sick back and act like families don't bicker.

I've always agreed with the sentiment that there's not such thing as a functional family.
