If they put a decent annodization on it (type III) it would be pretty hard to scratch.

I don't know much about materials. But I have a black nokia phone made with matte steel covers and after a year in and out of my jeans pockets it's pretty bad.

I 'd pick the black myself if it wasn't more expensive. We already pay enough for the appearance of our macs.

Totally agree, personally I never liked the black MacBooks when they were made and a black MacBook Pro would look worse IMO. The black border around the screen looks bad enough...

I see this comment all the time. I'm fairly certain the reason for the black is to enhance the visual contrast on the screen. That's one of the reasons you usually see black borders on projection screens, for example. It's mostly a trick on the eyes, but it's all about perception.

I find this inverted pic of the classic mbp super sexy. Probably look pretty good on a unibody as well.

edit: added a quick a dirty photoshop of a uni.

You'd think with their cash mountain they'd be able to get Dan Carter to put his signature on them!:p

Sadly not very many of our North American friends on this site would know who Dan Carter is, or even what rugby is. And the mention of All Blacks would get you labelled a racist.

For an education, search for Lomu on YouTube....

It is a Speck see thru satin black and I love it! It has a very nice feel to it that adds some extra grip too it and it really doesn't add much weight to the computer!

I've had my satin black Speck cover for about 2 months and I'm happy with it.
