Just toss them on a cooking sheet, spray butter or oil of some sort, some salt, any other dry seasonings (garlic powder, something spicy, etc) in the oven @ 350, maybe 20-30 minutes? It's a little experimental. :D

It does, I even uploaded a video showing the actual movement :D

Ouch.

Pumpkin seeds?

I thought (but then my eyesight is quite imperfect, even with glasses) that they were roasted peanuts.

Mind you, my eyes glaze at all of the images posted here, and I skate over them, as I prefer text.

And no, I concede and confess that I hadn't even read the very informative sentence above the posted image with would have informed me exactly what was being roasted.

Ok, I completely overlooked that video. 👿 Wow, that looks great! I want one! 😈 Hopefully you are the only one in the neighborhood with one. I could see that becoming a popular decorating item if it’s readily available at places like Target.

When I was a child we bought a plastic mask from Woolworths and a black rubbish bag was fashioned into a cape or witches dress. It’s so commercial now and the shops over the past 10 years have really cashed in. Even the church holds Halloween parties! No coins to scratch the brass bowl though folks lol.

Unfortunately it often involves teenagers wandering around in large groups wearing balaclavas and clown masks. We had a beer bottle smashed on our drive last night because we didn’t answer the door. Fireworks set off in the street too. We took our little ones around to the homes of family to get their Halloween experience. Not my favourite night of the year in all honesty.

Yes, teenage gangs or groups can really add a most unpleasant - and wholly unnecessary - atmosphere to the whole thing.

Over twenty years ago, thuggish teenagers - who weren't from the area - threw eggs at our house wall - shouting - because my father refused to answer the front door to them; quite rightly, he thought the festival one that should be celebrated by children.

Indeed, in those years, he would make arrangements with the parents of small children whom he knew might be in the area to call at - or between - a designated period of time, specified hours set in advance, but always early; their calls were invariably answered, but none afterwards.

Pumpkin seeds?

They're very tasty, you eat the whole "seed", which is actually the surrounding husk and seed itself, but it's not like trying to eat a whole - for example - sunflower seed, where the husk is way too fibrous, these kind of crisp up.

Pumpkin seeds are terrifically healthy too.

I did this from scratch, the ghost is just a $20 hanging prop we got several years ago - there's a motor that rotates a boom, that lifts the arms (and optionally the head) as it rotates - just look up Flying Crank Ghost (FCG). It's some slats of wood, a few metal eyelets, some nuts/bolts/washers from the Depot and some [black] paracord.

The garage had a couple of other lifters / spinners using the same batch of motors, and whatever other hardware I had lying around, it was pretty neat.

Commercialize it! ;)

There's a few sources for buying it online, just a side business it would appear, one guy knocking out a few for Halloween.

Hahaha, that's definitely not for me, I enjoyed making it, having it up for Halloween (people flipped out at the house), but doing more than one? I'll pass :D

Well, given the time of year, when such thoughts do cross one's mind, such thoughts - especially if there have been transformational changes in one's life in the past year (as there have been in mine) are only natural.

By way of contrast, in spring time, I will happily rhapsodise about daffodils.
Oh I understand completely, I was trying to control my emotion in public reading on my phone, my father passed away during the holidays 2017, and it way a painful time for us. I feel the same about the holidays given I spent Xmas 2016 and 2018 here alone.

I am happy you have maintained a relationship with the former carer and am also looking forward eventually to spring. Might as well enjoy what one can of the season, which for me means going up to the mountains.
