As I mentioned, we just have to wait for MS to get it fixed and for the update to roll out.

it’s worth tweeting at MS about it, see if they confirm they are aware and working on a fix. They probably are, but good to get them to confirm
Can you please share their tweeter account? Is it @office365 ?

This worked for me, in case it helps anyone else. I don’t know how many of these steps are actually needed:
- Deleted all my 365 apps (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
- Redownloaded Word.
- Accessed the Word settings from the settings app, reset -> reset word -> delete sign-in credentials.
- Opened Word, it crashed.
- Re-opened, and signed back in with my MS account. All working.
- Redownloaded Excel and PP, also now working.
This worked for me on a 2020 iPad Pro.

Does anyone is having the same issue? All the apps crash upon loading. Removed and reinstalled, restarted iPad, nothing works. I’m on a 2021 M1 iPad Pro 12.9 256GB.
This is a major issue for me. I use those apps daily.
Hi same problem for me. I saw the app updates available and tried that but no luck. The apps like PowerPoint, word and OneNote all still crash.

I deleted my beta profile a while ago thinking about receiving RC update. Turns out staying on beta 8 is better since half of my life relies on Microsoft apps. Although I can work off of Mac and PC, losing iPad file access is not ideal.

What a weird world we are in right now.

I did the exact same thing, and now all my MSFT apps are borked. I tried remove/reinstall login, logout with no success. 2021 Pro 1TB

I’m on latest public beta version (if that’s RC) and no crash for “Office” for me. 2021 M1 iPad Pro.

Can confirm that SSO with a school account crashes with Word, PowerPoint, Excel. Personal Microsoft account works fine. On OS15 RC iPad Pro 2021

UPDATE: With the latest Outlook update, I can no longer have Outlook and Teams with my SSO account and Office with my personal accoun. If I log into my personal account it forces me to re-login in Outlook. If I log in with my SSO account, all the remaining Office apps will start crashing again.
So, my only solution so far is to use my SSO account in my iPhone, but leave Office with my personal account on my iPad. Highly unpractical, but there is nothing I can do until MS fixes this.

Over the past years, I've never seen Microsoft to respond to any Tweet I've sent, sadly. I wouldn't be surprised if it will take 2 months or more for them to get it fixed. But on the other hand, we don't know for sure how much of the blame Apple deserves. Their update broke it.

I have meanwhile downloaded the OfficeSuite app from the AppStore as per link below. Note this app is not from Microsoft. It's around $25/year

It does work extremely well, as a temporary replacement of MS Office (or permanent for some).
Just 2 things
a) no auto save (but CMD+S as we used to do long ago LOL)
b) can't connect directly to OneDrive for Business account. BUT you can access your SharePoint Libraries and ODfB via the FilesApp (accessible from OfficeSuite directly).

So this just for those in urgent need. It helps me out for now as I need to use Excel daily. The only other big issue left for me is OneNote. Accessing through webbrowser now but it's terrible. Can't even paste anything in. Microsoft 🤬

Well, here you go. Also, of course Apple broke it, that’s the whole point of beta for new iOS, so developers can test their apps and ensure they work when the new iOS launches to the public. Microsoft have the sand with Windows, so they can’t be oblivious…

I just realize that saving modified files back to ODfB or SharePoint library is like buying a lottery ticket.
Using iCloud Drive etc. works however perfectly. I assume the issue rather on OneDrive's end. Not exactly the most reliable client anyway.

Should we still call it a Beta? It's an RC which means it will be released as is in 3 days. So the time window for MS to fix it is quite narrow. I'm not blaming either site but if Apple did a major change that can break apps, shouldn't they have done that in an earlier beta rather then RC with only days left for MS to fix?

this is no different to any other year. The RC is usually a newer build, which means it’s just as likely to break an app, like any earlier beta. That’s why Devs are given a week between RC release and public release to fix and submit their app update.

it’s been this way ever since iPhones got apps. It’s the whole point of the beta process (the RC is part of the beta process).

I have an iPhone 6s Plus (ios 15 rc) and office app, one note and office lens crashes on my iPhone. Is there any way to fix this?!

Yes but when you get to the beta/rc stage you are basically at the code freeze stage and only major bugs get pushed into the code. The beta releases are when you tweak your system and apps and ensure everything works.

This sounds and feels like an API change which is a big no no this late in the game.
