All of these answers only go to show that none of you have ever had or tried on a (non-leather) Hermès strap for the Apple Watch. They just ooze quality and are in no way comparable to your typical Aliexpress crap. If that quality is worth 350$ (to you) is another question entirely, of course.

Edit: also, the article is wrong. The blue and beige ones are available for the larger Watch.
It's still plastic.

Apple is essentially killling off the Hermes line of watches with garbage like this. In the end, people aren’t going to buy these cheap looking bands and Apple will just ditch the Hermes line altogether.

I mean if you aren’t selling the Hermes watches with luxury leather bands then what is the point?
I think you mean Hermes line of Apple watches :)

People in this thread would blow their top if they ever stepped into a Hermes store, learned how much they sell their purses for, and the process involved to even be given the opportunity to buy one. The folks who buy these things are not value shoppers comparing prices on AliExpress. I'm not sure why this is a consistently a surprise to the MacRumors forum community.

Ok I guess, but $349 for a yarn looking band is just simply ridiculous.
But it's luxurious!

How much of a loser do you have to be to buy this 💩 and then convince yourself that it’s much better than a leather band?
As Hermès is not a particularly failing losers company, they must do a lot of things the right way.

BTW: In case of dislike - move on - nothing to see here. ;)

I would like to challenge you to a blind test. Let's make sure the quality also oozes when you don't know the brand/price!

As soon as I saw the band, I immediately also thought that it was patterned on 1930s-era Hermès gloves created for driving and sailing. But I didn't realize it was also a golf glove.

😒

How embarrassing for Apple. $350 for a spool of thread in a fancy shape.
Pity for you, that YOU did not have the idea to turn the spool of thread into a fancy shape and sell it.

Folks: It is a free world, we are living in. Do not get it, if you do not want to buy it with that price tag. Others do enjoy it. You would not want live in a world, where they were stopped to do that, because you would not be allowed to critisize it.

So you’re saying there’s a demographic out there with more money than sense?

Nah, we know that people can be idiots elsewhere as well. It's just not apple specific then. And don't forget that people who will buy RAM or SSD-upgrades for 4-10 times the market price are not value shoppers either.
