This thread must be full of poor teenagers and college kids. Why is everyone complaining about the pricing. I can generate income to pay for the fully specced version in 2 days of work. As a few others have noted, there are obviously very few actual professionals on this thread. The complainers should just leave and go back to their LeapPad Pros.:D

Really? You make $10,558.90 in two days? Really?

Let's look at that a bit closer:

A full spec MacPro is $9,599.00
+ 10% Tax
$10,558.90

To pay for that in two days you would need to make $5,279.45 a day. That translates to:

$659.90 / hour
or
$1.31M /year

I'm an "actual professional" who charges a hell of a lot for consulting, but I don't pull down that kinda scratch. Must be nice to be you.

Regardless, my mew Not-Fully-Speced MacPro ships in Jan... YAY.

You can pay for this in two days worth of work. Projects come in waves. It's easy enough to pay for one of these machines in full with one or two projects.

Why is it Apple's job to make you a display? You know that there are countless display manufacturers, right? You also know that even if Apple made a display, you would just complain about it being 'too thin' and 'too expensive' before buying from someone else anyways, right?

If anyone was actually buying Apple displays, Apple would update them more often.

Maybe some people. I do want a thunderbolt display. It's not too tin or too expensive. It's just too usb2..

I couldn't do it in two days of work but one or two projects, yes.

Me, too. There may be countless display manufacturers but there are only a few that make monitors at an Apple display resolution. Not interested in a big 1920x1080 monitor. It's not a tv. And secondarily I want something that looks good and preferably goes with my new MacPro.

... but there are only a few that make monitors at an Apple display resolution....

If you're talking about 2560x1440 in the 27" ATB then just about everyone that makes computer monitors makes that resolution. In fact, Apple wasn't even the first to have a monitor with that resolution.

Apple is also quite behind the curve on professional offerings and 14 bit monitors let alone 4k.

If you can find a similar thunderbolt display, please tell me the link. The only ones I see are display port and the ones I saw are more expensive than Apple's and pretty ugly in general.

You didn't mention TBolt before, just resolution. In that case no of course not. The price is what I was talking about before, many of the displays in the ATD's league are top notch, and usually far better panels.

Them being ugly is subjective. I do like the metal stands on the Apple displays, but all things considered I am not too concerned with my display "looking" pretty if it displays an image I can use for color correction with minimal glare and ghosting.
