Just how tight are your pants? Talking to the people who bent their iPhones. I looked at the bend test videos going around and trying to imagine how tight your pants must be in order to exert that amount of force... I mean my pants are relatively form-fitting (not TIGHT but not ghetto sag either) and I haven't had this happen.

Looking over at my nice aluminum MacBook pro I think I could put some serious dents in the casing if I pushed as hard on it as they do in the YouTube videos. Maybe even break the screen if I pushed on the top.

But I'm not gonna do that of course. That'd be dumb.

This whole bent thing is so stupid, if your phone is bending in your pocket, maybe it's time to stop wearing tight jeans..

Was there an iPod touch 5th generation "bend-gate"? Those are quite thin and aluminum. Both my kids have one (and don't treat them extremely gently) and they have not bent and in a year. That's strange, isn't it? Maybe less hype around the iPods?

I never heard of this until I saw the video. This is the most popular iPhone site and I wasn't seeing any posts about this before the video.

They are small. Different
This is a major issue, don't fool yourself people

Lol I own an unbent 128 plus.. Other friends have slight bents.. It's a fact, time to deal

No.

There are no facts.

A fact is something that is verifiable.

What we have are post by anonymous random people, some of them newbies.

Anecdotal comments are not proof, or facts.

Just go to your nearest Apple Store and try to bend it with the force you think your device might experience in the future, accidental, casual or whatever.

I have known early on in life that some people are not careful with their things. I have seen people's CD cases, books, cars, laptops in bad shape due to negligence. I never have this problem. Two years ago the BendGate showed up with the iPhone 5 too. I never had that problem with mine and I put it into my pant pockets all the time. I just made sure to not sit on it or keep it in my front pockets. No BendGate. Common sense people.

Cross sectional areas:
5S = 58.6 mm x 7.6 mm = 445.36 mm^2
6 = 67.0 mm x 6.9 mm = 462.3 mm^2
6+ = 77.8 mm x 7.1 mm = 552.38 mm^2

So we have increased CA to at least somewhat offset the increased length. I'm not sure I buy your 22% stronger in bending number.

These are surface areas.

"All the bent phone nonsense" is being perpetuated by threads like this.
