36 negatives with 10641 positives is nothing. These are refurbs after all.

I don't buy from eBay sellers like that. "refurbished_outlet"'s neutral and negative feedback runs the gamut from buyers never receiving shipments to receiving broken merchandise. Conversely, I've seen sellers with 100% feedback that, when you read the buyers comments, you walked away scratching your head

I think there are some decent discounts. I'm not sure I would classify them as "steep" though.

If you check the store's Q&A about shipping it states they ship from multiple locations in the US but that could just mean the product is coming in from China first and then to a distribution center in the states. The prices are also comparable/better than the US prices so international buyers would naturally be interested, but they don't ship internationally which seems like something Apple would do to discourage buying them overseas. Is this really Apple or some new department of Apple?

I ordered 2 items in the last 2 weeks (AppleTV and an iPod). Both got to me in under a week in sealed Apple refurb (white) boxes with Apple Stickers and all the usual suspects of stuff. Checked the Serials and both have a 1 year warranty from the day I activated it.

I purchased atv 3 the other day and they did not charge me tax.

I was charged tax for Los Angeles

You should check the shipping price before you buy anything online, including from eBay.

Free shipping on everything from this seller. Also they pay for return shipping.

I think this isn't run by Apple, but Apple is just selling to an "official" refurbished dealer. That way their name isn't tied to eBay.

I was going to post that it had to be Apple - who else can sell refurbished items. Now I know :D

I'd be curious to hear from people who've bought from that seller. When I buy refurb items from Apple you can't tell them from new. You get all the accessories and other items. Just the box being brown is about the only thing different I've noticed. If a reseller is buying a palette load of stuff and fixing and selling it I'd be surprised if they could package it like Apple does.

My ipod and appleTV I got from this seller on ebay were like new/refurbished by Apple. Sealed box. New Serial number, 1 year warranty from activation date and all authentic accessories, including apple stickers.

If this isn't Apple then they are buying already refurbished stock FROM Apple and are selling as a 3rd party seller, but not as a refurbishing company. My guess is that it's like one person stated earlier that this is a refurb overstock purge so not to overflood their official site with Refurb items.

Looks like they're using eBay to sell products with steep discounts rather than on their store to avoid the "cheap" and "devaluation" aspects that Apple dislike.

Mehh, isn't basically every state bankrupt? -.-

Edit: ups somebody already wrote that lol
Really haven't seen it.

Not yet, the last info I looked at is from 2010 and only 32 are.

So, a few to go and maybe the other states should take a look why.

You had better luck than I did dealing with Apple directly on replacing 5 new iPhone 5's and a 3rd Gen iPad :D

Interesting...

Doesn't Apple allow you to buy AppleCare on refurbs, as well? Wonder if you can buy AppleCare on something you buy from here. If the serial numbers are legitimate and showing the standard 1 year refurb warranty... Might be worth a shot...

I returned the iPod Touch and they are willing to switch out a white one for me! :)

I was having some weird sync issues that I fixed after a restore. But I already contacted them and asked if I could swap it for white and they said yes so I sent it back.

They said they will ship it to me today.

I've been watching this store and it seems reputable even if it isn't Apple. Maybe as trust worthy than buying from an individual. All of the products are in sealed refurb boxes and have a warranty. That's pretty safe considering you could take it to an Apple store for repair or replacement if needed. I think I'm going to get myself an AirPort Extreme from them since my Belkin router has been in and out lately. Good price.

Just got this from them in an email since I've been in contact with them via email the last few days:

"Thank you for contacting Refurbished Outlet,

We are a 3rd party vendor or an authorized re-marketer for Apple. All of our items go through a final inspection by Apple before they are listed for sale."

Question answered.

Take look at the negative eBay feedback and their replies. This outlet is not run by Apple Inc.

Not sure... read through some of those comments. Sounds like a lot of them are a little quick on the trigger. eBay buyers can be VERY challenging. It's interesting that everything comes in sealed Apple packaging. I've never had that from any other "non-Apple" supplier. Anyone else?

Apple refurbished products are sold to be "as new", so no reason not to sell AppleCare. If you buy a product, take it home, unpack it, decide that you don't want before you even turn it on and return it to the store, that product is exactly the same as the ones that are still in the store, but Apple can't sell it as new anymore.

Apple refurbs are great! The only time I got a dud was the 2008 Unibody 15-inch MBP I bought. It had the screen flicker. But I got it fixed a few years later with a logic board replacement for free. :)
