Having recently played with Samsung's new Pro 12-inchers, I can say that I'm definitely not the target for something like that UNLESS it runs OSX applications instead of iOS ones.

And even, I'm not a fan of touchscreen-equipped Win 8 laptops, touch doesn't make sense for all types of applications.

2015 AppleTVTray.

Complete with Nu-Wave IR screen to keep your food warm, made to fit Swanson's upcoming iMeal TV Dinner line--and accompanying Nike app that will tell you how many miles you'll have to run to work off the calories.

There are no Apple laptops powerful enough for me.

But I have been waiting for this iPad for years.

I don't want a tablet that is 16:9 or has less than 128GB storage.

A screen this size would fully expose the limitations of the "grid of icons" paradigm that Apple have boxed themselves into. Makes sense on a small screen but would look ridiculous on this.

indeed, but I think this will change before that tablets gets out.

Maybe - but the app icons are simply a launch space. Why would it matter if you have 35 icons on the home screen? You launch an app and you're off the home screen.

Unless you have to have active widgets, which frankly just wastes battery life, on your home screen, the grid of apps shouldn't really matter.

I never understood the hate of the grid either. It's the most efficient use of space allowing you access to everything quickly as opposed to widgets serving up information that may or may not be relevant at the time and which reduce the space available for app icons you will want access to.

I would buy one of these. I miss large screen laptops; this might be a reasonably good replacement. I hope they actually come out with it.

Too bad it's not a bit bigger!

Apple didn't make touchscreen Macs because of arm fatigue.

Well, this isn't exactly lap material. It'll be on some type of stand or wedge, then you're basically using a touchscreen Macbook/iMac, albeit less powerful.

Personally, I don't see it.

I hope we see pro features make it this ipad, multitasking, beefed up processor, higher ram, stylus for accurate input a truly content creation device and marketed that way.

Why don't they just make and macbook Air with a touch screen. Or have the iPad Air pro run osx.

Apple's new strategy to keep up profits without any real innovation: Make humongous devices and sell them by the pound...

I think you are confusing Samsung with apple again...screen sizes ever increasing is their gambit!

There ain't much innovation to be had in tech I think apple has done its fair share for pretty much every aspect of software, hardware for all computing. From originating much of the PC graphical UI, inventing affordable/personal computing, capacitive touch, multitouch, ui elements related to them, iPod, and the entire post pc blueprint.

Where exactly are you expecting this so called innovation to appear? In what form? Can you even suggest one clever idea anywhere near innovation, no I don't think so. You couldn't even pick innovation out from a line up of ideas! It's just not something that happens because you try hard, it's a much more abstract multifaceted beast from many areas by many companies.

I think apples profits are plenty UP! Every company needs to make a profit but apple is not wanting in this area at all, far far far from it. I find the insinuation that all they're capable is more sizes when that is clearly not the strategy as asinine and naive.

What if this is just getting ready for tablets being truly powerful enough to be a computer. Do most people really need full computers? After all, most people don't require anything fancy when they are just checking email, browsing facebook, and doing light work.

I imagine soon we'll have a processor that is powerful enough (to Apple's liking) for whatever OSX looks like in a couple or few years down the line. This could be all that we need for a portable computer and/or propped up on a table with a bluetooth keyboard and mouse. It would remind me of macbook/portable iMac hybrid.

Just random thoughts. :)
