It’s so great that they’re charging us more for a downgraded, less premium product. Thank you Tim!
Marketing team will get their ideas to sell this as the best ever Aluminium to the user :)

Honestly thinking about to upgrade form the 15 Pro. I like this two toned look on the backside.
And having all three rear cameras with 48 mp is nice.

I don’t know why everyone wants a lighter phone. It’s a phone. We’re debating something that weighs half a pound at the absolute most. What are you, a mouse?
Repetitive strain injury is exacerbated by the weight of the phone. I have a 15 pro and I still use my iphone 6 which is infinitely more comfortable to use for long periods.

That's two comments and two complaints. You need at least three before you gain full acceptance into this community. In all seriousness, I'd bet you are in the minority for not wanting the Pro and Pro Max to potentially weigh less.

The weight discussion is absolutely pointless. Some folks prefer the comfort of lighter devices, others associate a higher weight with a more „premium“ feeling. (Same thing with mechanical watches, btw.) There is no „right or wrong“ here.

So this us why the price is rumored to increase. Aluminium instead of titanium. 🫥
The rumored price increased? Did I read that correctly? You're complaining about the rumored price of an unannounced phone? More people on this forum should consider walking in nature. Do forums naturally lead to nihilism, or is it specific to this forum?

I like my Titanium iPhone 16 Pro Max, but I always felt that advertising based on the metal used in a phone was odd. Titanium bicycle frames over aluminum? Lots of benefits at a cost premium. But on a phone it honestly makes no difference to me at all. I have owned Aluminum, Stainless, and Titanium iPhones, as well as plastic. I am not a huge fan of plastic, though I have had nice polycarbonate phones as well. To me the thing that has differentiated my iPhones the least was which metal was used in the device. I think moving from the “Glass Sandwich” design is probably a good thing, but then again I am not an engineer or industrial designer. I just hope that the huge camera bump really is needed for a massive camera upgrade.

This will only make a tiny glimpse of production costs.
If it’s really 50 bucks more but instead of 128 Gb it’d starting with 256 Gb, I think it’s fair.

The comparison to bikes is pretty on point. It’s the same here, every company advertised the used material of their bikes as the best.
At the end Aluminium, Titanium and Carbon all having their own strength and weaknesses but there isn’t that one material that is the absolute best.

Hideous..
Wonder how they will market going back to aluminium after how they hyped Titanium.
Keeping my 15PM for a long time, then switching to Android.

You get a full aluminium enclosure rather than the titanium sides you have at the moment basically.

I get the feeling the hardware will feel quite Mac like in person.

I don’t really care that it’ll be aluminum. I’ll appreciate the thermal benefits and weight reduction. That camera bump though… baby got BACK.

And the price bump is because of Taco. Aim your ire there.
You mean the $50 price reduction for the 256 GB model? You need to hget your TDS looked at. It is hampering your ability to do simple math.

If they have switched to Aluminium in order to increase the battery size to off set weight thats fine with me.

Every time. EVERY TIME users comment on wanting a lighter PORTABLE DEVICE we get that one gym bro who doesn’t understand ergonomics and thinks a comment like this adds anything to the discussion.

Thankfully Apple understands (even if you don’t) that every gram can make a difference in usability for a device that is meant to be held in one hand.

I haven’t seen any confirmation that 256Gb will be the new base (it was only a supposition from MR staff). Apple likely would have bumped the base storage anyway to stay competitive. Just like they did when they removed the 64Gb iPhones without a price bump.

Jokes on you though, I’m a libertarian. I don’t care who is in office… I only care about who is screwing with my wallet.

It matters. Hence the iPhone Air. It’s something you hold and carry with you everywhere. A reduction in weight is always appreciated by me.
“I am carrying something that weighs 4 ounces”
“I am carrying something that weighs 7 ounces”
I am really just not seeing a significant difference

This might be the first time in my life I’ve ever been referred to as a gym bro. I can assure you I am not. But I have never had any difficulty using any iPhone I’ve ever had one-handed, even the 14 Pro Max which I believe is officially the heaviest the iPhone ever got. It’s very much the contrary, using the iPhone one-handed is actually something I do quite often.
