Yes, but we haven't seen pricing on new models yet. I bought a specced-out 16" MBP M1 Max over the Summer and am not worried. Tech always marches forward. I am intrigued by the M3 announcement but am not suffering any buyers remorse...or shall I say "not yet", lol.
Same, I got a configured BTO M2Pro and it’s screaming fast. Excellent machine for my video work. M3 sounds exciting, but tech always moves without waiting for anyone.

Isn't that what everyone has been bragging about is that surely there's no way they'd drop support for M1 like they are Intel Macs right now.
They better not. People would completely freak out if they dropped features from M1-based Macs already.

We are living through an interesting period for Apple as they gain total control over their Macs, it’s totally up to them to decide when to drop support for their machines. Hopefully they won’t go the route of Macs being as frequently upgraded as their iOS devices, because they are not the same at all. After all, no matter how much they market their iPhone, it is the Mac that people end up paying more for. And before anyone starts saying Air is cheaper than iPhone Pro Max, people buying an Air don’t usually go for the top tier iPhone. It would be fairer to compare those to a maxed out MacBook Pro or Mac Studio/Mac Pro.

Apple is not dropping M1 support anytime soon. The M1 still has very respectable performance for general computing, and the M1 Pro and M1 Max have even more life left.

If Apple can support iPhones for 5-6 years then there's no reason to dump M1-series support so soon.

A more interesting question: When will Apple drop ALL support for Intel x86?

I knew price would determine whether or not I missed the boat on the surprise M3 reveal. The M3 specs are truly impressive but a 14" base M3 Pro with 36GB/1TB costs more than what I paid for the 16" M1 Max 64GB/4TB over the Summer. The new space black looks great but absolutely no buyer's remorse here. Congrats on anyone picking up a new M3 machine. Enjoy!
