Is nobody going to talk about how they wouldn't have PVT units both with and without 120Hz-capable displays? PVT is literally "Production validation testing" where the design and features have been 100% locked in and is used to streamline the mass manufacturing process.

Things like making the decision between having a 120Hz-capable display (and other hardware required for 120Hz) or 60Hz display are done before the EVT stage and locked in during the EVT stage.

Please note that I'm talking about 120Hz-capable displays and other hardware, ofcourse Apple could use a 120Hz display but lock it down to 60Hz in software because they're not satisfied with the quality or w/e on 120Hz. What I'm saying is that there's no way that there's PVT units both with and without 120Hz hardware like the screenshots make appear.

The only thing that makes sense (if the screenshots are real) is that both the Pro and Non-Pro's use the same PVT software which explains why both for the camera features and display features there's a warning about checking the PVT unit for the required hardware (No LIDAR hardware on non-pro, no 120Hz hardware on non-pro).
This would basically 100% confirm the 120Hz-capable displays and hardware on the Pro models as well.

I think today’s phones have reached a point where there is very little to improve. The camera quality is already brilliant and it will never become a full DSLR replacement. How special does the display or how fast the Internet connection need to be for you to read emails, news, watch YouTube or chat with friends? Any recent phone can do those effortlessly. And no one should be watching films on a phone to begin with. Just my personal opinion though.

Everything except battery which still sucks.

I would be happy with iPhone support for the Apple Pencil.

Dumb question. What are those dark diagonal lines on the screen seen on the video???

All I miss from my current XR is the ability to unlock BOTH with Face ID and Touch ID. Now that masks are mandatory at many places, it's always a PITA to unlock while on the go.

And hopefully it's all "Pro" models and not just the Max models.
I'd say that's pretty much a given.

Apple doesn't have much to differentiate between Pro and standard this year. 120 Hz display is a big one.

If the smaller Pro didn't have that, it would be viewed as closer to standard than Pro. That can't happen.

120 Hz display has as much if not more "wow" factor than the Retina display. It is one of those few moments where anyone looking at the display for the first time sees an immediate, obvious, and very pleasing difference from any display they've seen before.

Now that would be something that would really make me excited, Apple going balls to the wall with R&D into newer advanced battery tech. I would love to see the iPhone 13 or whatever keynote where they announce they've great increased battery capacity and limited power draw, combined with software efficiencies, and the new phones have something obscene like "up to 24 hours of streaming video playback" and "up to 130 hours of audio playback?"

That would seriously be the Next Big Thing.

So are we assuming that there won't be a feature difference, just size, between the regular 12 Pro and the 12 Pro Max? I hope so...
Unless you consider several more hours of battery life a feature. But really its just incidental.

Nonsense. iPhone lasts all day without issue, and doesn't need to last any longer than that. Each successive model is purposely designed to get as much power as possible while still lasting long enough for 1 day of use. It will never be optimized to last longer than that, because that's unnecessary.

When it can last at least 2-3 days give me a call until then it's not a nonsense, but a real issue. Everything in an iPhone got better except battery technology. The only way you get more battery life from an iPhone is if they can physically put more battery in and save on consumption in other parts. The technology itself is the same for decades.

120Hz would be a big deal and I’d love to see it on the iPhone Pro. Hopefully along with that we get 4K120 on the camera as well.

What I wouldn’t be a fan of, though, is if it were limited to just the Pro Max. That phone is already obscenely expensive as is and is more than I would want to spend on a phone. The 6.1“ Pro is going to be my go-to when launched as I feel that’s the perfect size for a phone and it’d be a shame if it didn’t have the same features as the Max.

The way I see it it's the only real advance possible in a smartphone as we know it today - much better battery technology. There is literally no difference between iPhone X and 11 Pro when doing regular smartphone stuff performance wise. A14, A15? who the **** cares, i need my phone to last.

Personally I'm okay with my battery life but more would always be nice for sure. There can always be room for improvement and that's where it would really be interesting to see Apple step it up.

I'm fine too given i'm very close to civilisation. If i go fishing for 2 days i need to take a power bank and that a problem. The phone should last 72 hours easy in 2020. I'm pretty sure no one would complain if it lasted 3 days.

Sure, other than Max Weinbach, a pretty credible leaker, confirming it is real with a photo of an actual device...but sure, fake....

Realize most "leaks" dont see the light of day. Just because they dont come out publicly doesnt mean its not true internally and was accurate
Except he’s not a credible leaker, he just steals others information & claims it as his own. He stole someone’s render & claimed it as his leak.

I just want to say i never appreciated scrolling with Apple products until I used Windows, Linux, and Android. I am not sure why scrolling there is so off...but thank you Steve! 120Hz or not!
