How is the Ocean for everyday use? I'm thinking of switching out my Alpine. I really liked my old Nike band- is the Ocean similar? The Alpine is ok, I like that it's light, but I don't like that when it gets wet. Also, sometimes I feel I can't get it right - either it's too tight or too lose.

It is good for me for a few hours is not worn too tightly.

The band is slightly rigid and the "bumps" in the band will definitely cause some pressure indentations in your wrist which can get a bit uncomfortable if worn for a longer duration.

I've actually swapped out the band for my AW7 Sport Band and will use the Ocean band, well, in the Ocean when diving. I do love the shade of yellow...

Very happy with mine. It's my first apple watch, and I'm impressed by all the health features. It does scratch easily -- I just noticed my first scratch after wearing it for three days and have no idea how it happened.

I have both the ocean & alpine bands. I'd definitely pick the ocean if I only had one, given that it's waterproof and doesn't get gross with sweat when exercising. I do find the alpine band easier to put on, actually (once you get the hang of it), it's also lighter and more breathable, and I think it looks a little nicer. Ocean feels nicer against the skin, except for being less breathable.

I love it. I have 2 complaints.

1) I liked the brushes titanium on the previous ti models vs this blasted finish. No biggie. Just a preference.

2) the outer layer wrapping/protecting the screen should have been rounded or chamfered. It’s a sharp edge and not the best in feel. I think this was an error. You could have angled or rounded it and not reduced protection. Like — it’s absolutely silly. You can scrape off your fingernail on the edge, up OR down . What an incredibly silly decision. Huge miss on this.

I love the size more than the smaller one 44. So that’s nice. Screen is nice. Flat screen especially. Battery life is great. Extra button is great.

If I could choose, I’d pick no orange button but you can take or leave it. Doesn’t bother me either way.

9/10 for me. Great watch and very happy. That kissing chamfer would really seal the deal.

I am gonna give it another few days, but I would say I feel mixed. While I'm tired of the Series 6/7/8 looks, This watch reminds me of a Garmin in looks, but it's battery life still isn't up to par of a Garmin Fenix/Enduro or Epix2. Apple Watch Ultra still gives me the same question, do I want a rugged watch with stellar battery and all my data on one location (Garmin), or do I want a smartwatch with a bit better battery (2-3 days) that relies on other apps to give me the data I need. I'm doing some testing and pondering. Will decide early next week what to do.

For the first time I really love an Apple Watch. I’ve had them since S0, but never really loved them. This one is certainly different. It’s really the flat screen for me.
I will say I do like the reduced glare thanks to a flat screen. Rounded screens and sapphire lenses don't work too well since it is a huge reflector.

The sharp edge feel is also an issue I noticed.

Love it. My favourite Apple product in years. I’ve also had 3 people comment on it (positively) and that’s the first time I’ve had people notice any of my Apple Watches (Ceramic S5, SB and Graphite SS’s and a silver stainless Hermès).

Positives:
Love the design. It’s exactly how I’d expect Apples take on a beefy watch would look. Gives me the feeling of a mechanical crossed with smart watch goodness.

Battery life is incredible. I travel often, currently away on my first trip with it. Took it off charge at 430am on Monday, it’s now 10pm Wednesday and I have 19% remaining! (Note, I use AOD and sleep tracking but I haven’t needed GPS and I don’t have cellular, so that helps of course)

Negative:
The weird black marks that appeared inside the antenna loop are mildly annoying.

My stainless link and even the Alpine loop are really hard to release on the top connector of the watch. As in, it feels like I’m going to break something pressing the button in and forcing them out.

Some of the faces need to be optimised and made a little bigger to hit the edges of the screen.

Indifferent:
I fully expect this Watch to start showing some wear and tear, with what I’ll be doing with it. But there’s a part of me that thinks once I get past the first mark, I’ll enjoy the patina of it (just like I did with my old and very costly Tag before I went Apple).

Sadness:
My S6’s look like little toys now 😭

So far I’m really pleased with my Ultra.
I really prefer the size over my previous series 6.
The extra battery life is working out well.
During exercise I like the space for extra metrics.
The screen is nice and clear, and seems a good upgrade, nice clarity.

I really don’t mind the orange accents, I think they look ok.

I went for the Alpine band in orange, and thought I’d rarely use it but think for casual use it looks pretty good.

So yes, happy with my purchase. No regrets.

Same decision here. I've tried to wear Garmins as daily drivers (Fenix, Epix, 9x5), but I miss the convenience of the AW's superior smartwatch features. But I've never found an AW (including the Ultra) to be an adequate running watch for training and racing. So I always end up with an AW as a daily driver and a Garmin for workouts and sleep (for recovery metrics).

Loving it. I have the Midnight Ocean band and it is very comfortable as others have said. I will use the for weekend use in the surf and boat. Daily I use a sports loop for walking to the beach and switch out a nice Bandwerk leather strap for work. I’m surprised how good the watch looks with this band.

I kept my S7 Ti and wear it to bed with a braided solo loop because it’s so comfy.

Got mine with a midnight ocean band. Love it. Had a Nike watch before with a black Nike Sport band. The band with my Ultra is much more comfortable.
I got the midnight ocean band too. I was skeptical about it at first but I'm happy with it. It's very comfortable.

I love it and battery life is really a GAMECHANGER on this watch and completely changed how I use an Apple Watch day by day. I charged it to 100% on Tuesday at almost 3pm. Now we’re approaching Thursday in Berlin and my battery is still almost at 50%. I track my sleep every night, went to the gym twice and recorded cardio training session. This thing delivers!!!

I love my Ultra but not a fan of the ocean band so i swapped it with my trusty Nike Sport band

I'm loving mine. Installing the WorkOutodoors app was a game changer. Having the map on your wrist when hiking is amazing. Battery life has been very good, but not mind blowing.
My only 2 (minor) issues, is that the alpine loop is already showing traces of dirt after only a few days. Not a big deal, but annoying. Took me a couple of days to figure out how to put it on quickly, but now only takes a second.
And the other one, that a few people mentioned is that the crown sometimes gets stuck on my skin and makes it hard to rotate. Maybe a different band will help.
I come from a S5 so the larger screen and brightness have been great. Plus I love the design. So all in all, I'm a satisfied customer! 😊
