There are a few things you can do:

1.) Submit bug reports to Apple. Make the OS better by doing so.
2.) Switch to a different OS. Just be aware that you are going to have problems there as well. No such thing as perfect software, especially when it comes to the OS.
3.) Continue whining on 3rd party sites about it. It seems to be the "in" thing now.

Your choice.

Maybe if Apple allowed downgrades, he wouldn't.

Apple doesn't prevent people from switching to other platforms. That would definitely be a downgrade.

People really need to get a grip. The vast majority of users are very happy with what their iPhones and iPads do for them. Nitpicking a few features that do not work as YOU want them to doesn't mean that iOS 8 (or 7 for that matter) is terrible in its entirety. And so what if you have 30 people on a forum that agree with you. It doesn't mean that you're in the majority (you're not). And if it doesn't work for you, switch to another platform. Or maybe you did and found it sucks worse than what you're on here kvetching about.

Apple can't please 100% of its customers. But they consistently top JD Power's smartphone customer satisfaction ratings. All of this in spite of the 30 whiny people who get on here and constantly bitch about something that isn't going to change.

I used Apple Map few times but I use Google Map more because it has transportation service. I doubt Apple will include it in the future update. :apple:

iOS 8 looks like crap in my opinion, lags in some cases. You can tell Jobs is no longer around. Cook and Ive don't have that middle man to mentor them and push them, which they still need with all there experience. Things can only get better right?

I own a Plus and a OnePlus One running Lollipop so no I'm not biased or a fanboy of any company.

How was Lollipop 5.0? Better than iOS 8? :apple:

From a design/marketing perspective, it felt to me like the time Ford facelifted the gen. 1 Focus for about the third time, after competing cars had gone through a few full upgrade cycles.

I get jealous when I look at the UI for new Android etc. phones... But not so much when I actually use them. As long as it continues to work well I won't really tire of it.

iOS somewhat died for me the day the stock Youtube and GMaps apps were removed... The third party (and first party) replacement apps for both of those pale in comparison, and/or lose integration abilities, and were pivotal to what made me like having a smartphone in the first place.

Some of you guys need to find something to do but mock the OP. He is stating his opinion. He's entitled to that by the Constitution. And he is correct. This ios is full of bugs. Some are 3rd party apps. Others by Apple. None of which are getting fixed. I get reboots, apps freezing, dropped calls, and poor connections. All of which I didn't suffer on ios 7. This is the 2nd iphone I've owned. A friend of mine has a galaxy and says he rarely has an issue. Now, I love apple. But I hate the constant problems that keep plaguing their devices. I read these forums everyday and see people all the time complain about their phones not working properly. Trolls? I doubt it. Is it too much to ask that software be written and debugged? I don't know why some of you guys never have problems, but 1000's aren't not having problems. I know at least 10 people with iPhone and everyone of them are having problems. I don't want to switch platforms cause of apples security and simplicity. But it does get old fighting battery life and buggy software. Rant over.

It's all a perception problem. There are millions of iOS users out there that do not have the issues you are describing.

I have iOS 8 running on a iPad 2, iPad Mini, iPhone 5 and a iPhone 6+ and don't have the problems you are describing and I am only 1 person.

I don't know what is different with your devices compared to mine. It could be a corrupt install of iOS, corruption of data etc.

Yeah id say so, Google have done a great job in making Android functional and smooth now, joy to use. Lollipop is ahead for me, can do what more with it and it's just way better looking in my opinion.

I don't have any of the issues you have and certainly no more than 7.1.2 which is now ancient history. Nor do I know anyone who have the types of issues you describe. Certainly with tens of millions of idevices there will be varied stories in Internet forums.

The Free "Transit" app is awesome for transit schedules, and I'd bet it covers at least as many world transportation systems as Google does.

Transit resources shouldn't necessarily depend on your map app. Most of what you do is just type in a destination and it finds your transit options, right?

Go to apples forums. Their filled with problems. As well as the apple store. Everyone I know is having issues with bugs. All my problems began with ios 8. I've done clean installs. Apple needs to slow down and fix what they have before proceeding on.

The Apple forums are filled with issues, because it's a signal to noise ratio. No one goes into a forum and says "Everything is working fine! Thanks Apple!"
Now, are there problems? Of course there are. It's software and there are always going to be problems. It's up to Apple to fix them in a reasonable time period. Trust me, software is not fixed overnight.

After 8.1.1, iOS is just a mess. Keyboards still don't pop up in iMessages, music still randomly skips a beat when switching between apps.

iOS 8 is a bag of hurt.

That's right. Apple did nothing to prevent switching to non-Apple products.

That's why they waited 3 years for people who switched from iPhone to be able to receive text messages.

It would be quite a downgrade to go from a phone that gets messages to one that doesn't because they get routed to the phone that you already got rid of.

Not really Apple's fault that people who elect to use iMessage forget to unselect it before switching. I know a lot of people who switched to Android and didn't have a problem. Because they remembered to disassociate their phone number from a service they wouldn't be able to access on a different platform.

And a lot of people followed those same steps and still ran into that issue. Just because some people didn't experience an issue doesn't mean that one can't still exist for quite a few others.

Google "Apple Stock". Apple is having a great year for "sucking" so bad according to some.

Just wish that all new Apple Products 'suck', that should take care of your Apple stocks as well... They will 'suck' even higher....;)
