Tomorrow I'm most likely going to put some super glue in there and see if it will stay, if not then I guess I have no choice but to get Apple to fix it.

Don't do it! Have you ever watched CSI (any version) and seen them do fingerprint fuming using super glue? If you try and use super glue the same thing will happen to any fingerprints that are on the glass (inside or outside) and the surface of the LCD display. Once the fingerprints get fumed they can't be removed.

I would suggest using some low tack tape (like blue painters tape) to tape over the loose edge of the glass until you can get it replaced. This will help keep dust and debris out as well as being reversible if necessary.

Like I said, I can't be without my computer. I use it everyday for most of the day for school.

Also, I'm not going to touch the inside part of the screen at all. I lifted the glass using something from a toy, and I'm just going to get the glue and put some down the side then hold it firmly.

man dont be such a prat. everyone here is telling u to NOT use super glue. it has the potential to void your warranty, so when apple tells you there is nothing they can do anymore because of the glue...dont come complaining to us.

just use tape. so what if it looks ugly? is ur esteem that low?

You're in school right? I'm assuming you have a spring break just take it in then... Break shouldn't be more than a couple of weeks away. Just use tape for now. That way you get a new display, a working computer while you need it, AND get to keep your warranty.

I'm in Canada, no Spring Break here... however we do have something called "March Break" (for elementary school/high school kids) and then reading week for college students (me) which happens to be next week.

HOWEVER, I decided not to use any glue and Apple called me on Friday saying my part came in. Since I did have to wait long for the part to come in (more than a week), I explained the situation to the nice lady on the phone (regarding school), she gave me Pro Care for free.

I went to the Apple Store today to drop of the MacBook and the guy said 24-48 hours, BUT THEN he went to see if the repair guy was busy. Well he was with 2 other repairs, so mine was put 3rd for today and he said I should get a call before the store closes today :)

No idea why it's called reading week, all I care about is I have a week of freedom.

Btw I didn't get the laptop today like they said, instead I gotta wait till tomorrow morning :(

Like I said, we have March Break/Reading week which is 1 week. Spring break is 1 week anyways.. no?

im from canada and any break ive ever had in high school and elementary in march has ALWAYS been called spring break lol, although i know college/university is reading week, its essentially spring break.

Ok so while in class today, I got a call from Apple but didn't pick up so they left a voicemail. The guy that was helping me yesterday replaced the screen but then my airport card stopped working. So he said instead of wasting more time for more parts to come in, he said he was going to replace the computer.

I told him to swap my 4GB into the new one and he did, and now my problem is gone!

Fortunately as well, before I brought the computer in, I took out my 500GB Seagate and put in the stock drive just incase, so when I got home 20min ago I just put my 500GB back in and everythings like the way it was 2 days ago ;)

Congratulations on getting that sorted. It sounds like you had a lemon. Now, you have an apple.

Glad to hear that you got that taken care of to your satisfaction. If my memory serves correctly, I believe the airport card is actually in the display on the MacBooks, which would have meant replacing the display a second time.

Thanks, this is the second replacement that I got.

Yeah that's what I read somewhere too, probably here on this forum somewhere.

But yeah, since they waited 2 weeks for a replacement screen, the guy just did me a favour.

I just read this in SmallDog.com's Tech Tails newsletter and thought I'd share it here:

But in the unibody laptops, the AirPort card is located in the display module, which can be ordered only as a “kit” that includes the screen, screen enclosure, bezel, iSight, inverter board, and AirPort/Bluetooth card.
