Thanks Alumacase - looking forward to getting my hands on the goods!

ETA. is Monday, Store will be open, and on Sunday night i will post the time that i will post the Mac Rumors coupon code for Monday. The code will be worth $5. Thanks

What? All this excitement for $5? Screw it I'll just wait for reviews before jumping in then. I was expecting at least $10 for early adopters.

Hey, 5 bucks off is better than nothing off. Dude still needs to start earning some cash.

More off than offered by element :p

So essentially the people that get these codes would be paying full price for the case but get free shipping (assuming the shipping rate is still a flat $5). It's nice that they're offering a discount but either way I'll pass

I know he doesn't owe us anything, and a discount is nice, but when he said discount for macrumors followers, I was thinking something more significant.

Yah, alumacase, I can't believe you're not running a charity and just giving them away for early adopters. How about at least a 50% off coupon or something? $5??? I'll pass!

Quit your whining. The case is nearly half the price of ElementCase and looks more promising regarding signal issues. If you don't like the design don't buy it. $5 is more than enough and more than generous. I'm not kissing this guy's ass, but he is running a business. His goal is to make money.

By all means, if $5 off is going to push you away because it is not enough, maybe you shouldn't have been looking at a $60 case in the first place. I've seen some 99c cases get great reviews, so have at it!

Alumacase has been more responsive and honest in those responses to us than any other case manufacturer of his kind on these boards. He has answered most of our questions, even offered a discount (AFTER MACRUMORS MEMEBERS BROUGHT IT UP) and you still want more. I'm fairly new here, and like the information I can get from this site. But the amount of titty babbies on this board baffles my mind. Grow up, and give something back to society instead of whining all the time.

Please excuse the fact that I, myself, am now whining.

Could not agree more. This guy is under no obligation to give ANYTHING. His customer service so far, pre-release, has been stellar.

I'm not nolesfan...I have nothing to gain by kissing a manufacturer's ass. How about stop whining and say "thank you" to a guy trying to get himself started and offering a discount anyway.

Bloody ingrates, the lot of you - and shame on you for it. At this point, I'm inclined to not use the coupon code: not because it's not enough, or because I wanted more, but strictly to give this guy his full cost, which he has (in my opinion) earned and then some by his participation here, on facebook etc

The proof is in the pudding. Until now, we have only the word ow those at Alumacase, that there is no signal issue. If it is aluminum, just like the vapor, why wouldn't ther be a signal issue?
I guess we'll see all the early adopters complaining about signal issue as with the other cases.

I kind of agree with you. The fact is the case is aluminum and I don't see how you can get away from the signal and gps issues. Nobody has ever tried this case except Alumacase. I hope it works but I am not going to spend my money to find out the hard way that it does not. If it works as advertised, then maybe I will consider ordering at that point. I mean honestly, what's five bucks?

the case is already 25 dollars cheaper than competitors, something he did out of the gate to help those who wanted a more cost effective aluminum case (and frankly, it can't be any worse than the vapor case).

x100

Sums it up perfect.

When Alumacase first said they would offer a discount I honestly was thinking something like 20% for the first 20-30 people. And for $40-some dollars, this is a case that I would try. In any event, it is my personal preference not to pay $60 for a case that I don't feel very strongly about. From the outset it looked good enough where I'd give it consideration but the price had to be right and in the end it's just not for me. Would I pay $80 for a Vapor? Yes, because I really find those cases more appealing.

Say what you will about being ungrateful, etc. I really don't care; it's just how I personally feel. I have absolutely nothing against Alumacase and I'm very impressed with how responsive and open they've been all this time. But when all is said and done, I'm going to spend my money elsewhere.

I dont have an issue with that. The ones that annoy me are the people bitching about the discount. If you prefer another case, etc etc that's your perogative. I'm just saying that people bitching at alumacase for only giving 5 bucks off are being ridiculous. Dude could have said "after further consideration, get stuffed, no discount for you". 5 bucks is better than nothing I would say. Will it get fence sitters to buy? Probably not (as is your case) - and that's fine. BUt to say "I was sold until I saw you were only taking 5 dollars off" is bloody well ridiculous!

Are people really complaining about a discount like you really have a word? Alumacase could just not discount period and you'd still buy it. Let's be serious here this is getting ridiculous. He is doing a great, nice thing by discounting he didn't have to do that at all.

It's funny how people are whining about people whining. everyone has an opinion. Like maverick, I have no problem with Alumacase or buying it full price. But Alumacase did mention he was going to offer a significant discount so that we can buy multiple. For $60 shipped, how many people can buy multiple cases? I was interpreting his own comment. Again, nothing against Alumacase.

edit: here's the quote: "Yep... it will be priced... much lower..... so everyone will be able to afford other colors. Stay tuned in the next week, and i promise i will disclose final pricing numbers... everyone will be happy... except for the competitors"

anyways, this is life. He wants to make money (who doesn't), and we want to save money (who doesn't). The discount and this thread is giving him plenty of advertisement for free. We keep bumping the thread and he's always at the top. Do you know how much that is worth to a seller and how many people visit this site daily? It's worth more than $5/case. But yes, he doesn't owe us anything.
