So as promised here are a couple of quick shots. The first few are of the phone lying on my workspace in the same area.
Side note: Since I JB the phone, I cannot get field test to show. I know bars aren't a perfect measure of signal but I use something a little more accurate, the ability to make & receive a call. (I know, what a concept)
Picture one: Phone with no case 4 bars and able to make/receive a call.
Picture two: Top part of case slid into place. 4 bars, still able to use phone.
Picture three: Top in bottom in place, not screwed together. Signal dropping, still able to make call.
Picture four: Once screwed together it's "Game over Man" One bar and calls do not go out, and dump to voicemail when called in.
Now the signal issues I could maybe work around. As I mentioned I'm thinking of picking up a micro cell. But the next set of photos are what bothers me more. It simply looks crummy. The bottom doesn't line up, the finish and pattern of the metal doesn't match. It pinches my screen protector and causes it to bubble and thats huge for me. I got a scratch in my screen 2 weeks into ownership, so it's gotta be protected.
I do love the Blue color. I know its hard to capture in photos, but with the lucky labs white carbon back, it really pops.
All told, I'm torn. On the upside it fits in my Griffen dock which the vapor didn't. I can push the power button, but I'd be lying if I said its convenient with my big fingers which is another win in favor of the Vapor.
I'm a huge stickler for attention to detail in things like this and I think that will be the reason I don't see using this long term. They both perform poorly, but I would have to say the Vapor gets my vote for the lesser of two evils.
