I wish they could come up with matte finish stainless or aluminum model with sapphire screen

They could, but it will raise the cost of the aluminum model, and I can’t imagine to manufacture the Sapphire display is relatively cheap either. I suspect the Ion-X Glass is more than sufficient for the average consumer who wants decent protection, which is also similar to what the iPhone display would be in terms of comparison.

If you’re into sports, in my opinion it’s a no brainer. You want the less heavy one and the difference is significant. Actually, I don’t see why anyone would go for SS. If durability is a concern, just get Apple Care +. It’s still going to be cheaper in the long run.
do you think that the weight difference is significant between the 2?
thanks

It's 10 grams. You'd feel it.

I have a Fenix, which is twice the weight of a SS. You get used to it.

We're talking about something that weighs a 1/10 of a pound and the SS is, what, 10g heavier?

I do agree that the OP should probably get aluminum, put a cover or case on it if damage is the major concern.

The question is whether people who use the watch when they run will notice the difference (10 grams).
In my country there is no support for the apple watch cellular models so I wondering how much it is worth to buy the stainless steel verision.

Yes I did a little calculation for Germany resell market. Still dont know what to do.

Money lost after 1 year:
SS 400€ - per Year 400€
Alu 200€ - per Year 200€

Money lost after 2 years:
SS 550€ - per Year 275€
Alu 300€ - per Year 150€

Money lost after 3 years:
SS 600€ - per Year 200€
Alu 350€ - per Year 116€

So you could buy every year a aluminum or every 3 years a SS to spend the same Money.

You could also save 30€ or even 50€ in buying the smaller watch case! Sorry Im freaking out...
