This is bad advice imo. The new MacBook Pro does not offer the performance of the 5k iMac and "simplification" isn't really a convincing argument in that regard then, not for that price.

It's money man. If he doesn't like it he can sell it. It's not like he doesn't sell stuff. And, do you own this gear?

There should be disclaimers from people who don't own this stuff yet offer advice :D

Do you own both the new 5k iMac and the new MacBook Pro? Surely you will notice that the MacBook Pro with a max. 4x2.9GHz configuration (which has been benchmarked to be about the same speed as last year's MacBook Pro) has a lower speed than the i7 6700K 4x4.0GHz configuration in the 5k iMac, let alone with double the RAM.

But sure, put down other people's opinions just because you have a different one. I have researched the new MacBook Pro extensively enough to know what its performance is like. What you're suggesting is, in my opinion, a waste of resources and time.
