I just sold an iPhone 3G and 3GS on eBay and i have received payment and i have shipped to the address listed on pay pal. The 3G i shipped to NY has been received 4 days ago but the buyer has not responded to my requests to leave positive feedback so my funds are released.

The 3GS has been shipped to Indonesia and it hasn't been received. Im getting nervous Paypal says im protected but only if i had a delivery signature which i did not get, only delivery confirmation.

Now after 13 days when my payment clears, how can the buyers scam me? Will they request to reverse the transactions or dispute it somehow like they didn't receive the item?

Any help would be appreciated.

Going through a similar station. Sold my mint iPhone 3GS before the iPhone 4 announcement. After the announcement the buyer goes to Paypal and states 'item not as described' as it was not working. Paypal rule in his favour despite evidence to the contrary. He then sends back my phone with tracking. But it is delivered to an address down the street from me. But it wasn't the phone. It was a mobile phone brochure!!! Paypal are saying I need to revert the funds as he has supplied a tracking number that shows 'delivered' and showing it was in my hometown, but the tracking does not display the address. I have now involved the police, but Paypal are adamant that as the tracking information shows delivered in my home town that the buyer has held up his end. I have never had any problems with eBay or Paypal until now, but this has put me off forever.

Sorry to hear your story.

On another note, I was reading up on the Seller Protection and it states:

Proof of delivery

Proof of delivery is acceptable documentation if a buyer files a claim, chargeback, or reversal for either an unauthorized payment or merchandise not received. You need online tracking information from a shipping company that:

Shows the status as delivered.
Shows the date of delivery.
Includes the recipient’s address, showing at least the city/state or ZIP code (or their equivalent).
For payments of $250 USD (or local currency equivalent) or more, includes proof of the recipient's signature to confirm delivery.

Proof of shipment

Proof of shipment is acceptable documentation if a buyer files a chargeback or reversal for an unauthorized payment. You need a document from a shipping company that:

Shows the status as shipped or delivered, or shows a postmark.
Shows the date of shipment.
Includes the recipient’s address, showing at least the city/state or ZIP code (or their equivalent).

So I don't have a signature so I cannot get the proof of delivery guarantee, but can I still get the proof of shipment guarantee which would protect me from a chargeback or reversal for an unauthorized payment? If it's a scam from indonesia, most likely it's a stolen credit card, would this fall into this category?

Also, signature is only required for more than $250, am I protected up to that amount?

I don't know, I'm just going out on a limb.
