I know I am.
but it is just $600 brand new 128GB.
and ... it's NOT glass back save me a ridiculous repair fee of $550.
After all trade in my 6s, I paid $360...
In 2022, I am going to buy a foldable iphone xxx 5G.

good deal, right?

No you're not crazy.
I'm still using my 6S, and it performs well with iOS12. I'm sure the 7 Plus is great on iOS12.
And it will be supported for at least another 3 years, if not longer.

In fact, I was tempted to do exactly what you did, to trade-in my 6S for a 7 (mainly for the IP67).

A brand new 7+ with 128gb is normally $669. If it were me I’d buy a refurbished one from Apple for $569 instead: https://www.apple.com/shop/product/FNQH2LL/A/Refurbished-iPhone-7-Plus-32GB-Black

Apple refurbished iPhones are basically as good as brand new ones since they replace the battery / enclosure and it comes with the normal 1-year warranty.

As for the 7+ in 2019, it is still a great phone and software support will last for years to come. As long as you are happy with the 7+ that’s all the really matters. I know I would be :)

Don’t forget the stereo speakers! That was a huge upgrade to me. The audio quality is night and day.

Some days I miss my JB 7+. That phone was dope. Second best iPhone have ever owned. The 10 is my number one because of the edge to edge and OLED display. I waited several years for that.

Everyone has their own ideas on what they want for a phone so it isn't crazy if that's what you want.

On the other hand, I can't see myself getting the 7+ when Apple is selling the 128G SE for $299 :).

Isn’t Best Buy offering $700 for X?
Are Apple still making and selling them (iPhone X) new via third party outlets or is this leftover stock? I know they still make the 6s new even though they don't sell it themselves anymore, and did the same for the 6 before it. I'm not sure I'd be wanting a X that's leftover stock at this point considering they stopped making them (originally) last summer (over 6 months ago now).

An iPhone 7+ is still a great phone that can do almost everything that the latest iPhones can do. Not a bad purchase at all.

I'm seeing the unlocked version on sale for $799, but you have to activate it today, otherwise it's $899. Not sure if there's some shady Best Buy forced temporary carrier lock or what if you activate an unlocked phone today, not sure why that would be the make or break it on a $100 discount unless there's something shady there.

So…you're crazy and you admit it.

That makes me a stark-raving lunatic for continuing to use a launch weekend iPhone 6s+ in 2019. And I must be completely insane for also continuing to use an iPhone 5, a 4s and a 4 in 2019.

Let's not get into my choice of using pre-2006 Macs.

Yeah, total nutter!

Hey, I’m on my launch 6S as well. :D

Using the iPhone 5 in 2019 is a pain though (I tried), as more and more apps require iOS 11.

My 5 is a backup phone and it's running 10.3.3, whereas my 6s+ is running 9.0.2. So, my 5 is better able to handle more modern apps.

Not that I am installing apps. I generally use both phones to do certain specific things and they handle that well. If I really need something new I have an iPad running iOS 12. But so far the 5 has handled anything my 6s+ couldn't.

The company I work for now uses an app for employees to punch in and out for work. It requires a minimum of iOS 9.3 so I had to install it on the iPhone 5. Which is fine because as a secondary iPhone that's the sort of thing I use this phone for. It lets me keep just the personal stuff and apps I want on my 6s+.

PS. I got my daughter a SIM card last week and added a 2GB line for her. She's using it in my wife's old iPhone 5, which my daughter has had for awhile now. My daughter seems to have no issues in finding games to download that work on the 5. :D

The best advice I always give to my friends when they want to buy a smartphone is buy a phone that suits your job, your geograpical location and your bank account. You dont have to go bankrupt because you to buy a mobile phone.

Seems idiotic to me to trade in a 4 year old phone and part with $360 just to get a 3 year old phone instead.

May as well just keep the 6s and the $360.

Well, if a phone costing 0-1000$ is what pushes you into bankruptcy then you have a problem before shelling out the cash.

Rule of thumb: Always have at least 3 months wages saved away for a rainy day.
