I don’t believe you’re crazy. I have several family members using the iPhone 7 and they plan to use it for several more years. It’s a good, dependable phone. I might pick up a refurbished iPhone 8 Plus soon and use it for two more years. It just depends on your needs. I don’t need the latest tech, and for better or worse, I still like Touch ID.
Indeed the 7 and even the 6S and SE are still good, dependable phones that are more than usable.
You're thinking of picking up an 8 Plus? Considering you like Touch ID and the fact that the 8 Plus is essentially the same as the X (both A11 devices with 3GB of RAM among other aspects) and not too far off at all from the XR or XS (A11 to A12 isn't a huge improvement) you won't be disappointed at all and will most certainly love your new phone! It may not be the latest or greatest but it's extremely usable and plenty fast! It can last you 2 years very very easily.
