I went in today and spoke with the staff, I didn't explicitly ask for a new unit I just described my problem. He went into the back room and came out about 10min after with a brand new macbook for me:). Gotta love:apple:

Excellent service from Apple

never hurts to ask!
good on you for going back and asking for them to do the right thing.

So I just bought the base 13" yesterday and while I was in the store updating the software it froze on me. The apple employee needed to hard restart my computer. Since bringing it home I've noticed that when I have itunes open sometimes I can't close it or access any other programs and the window won't minimize...Should I maybe reinstall itunes or is this a bigger issue that warrants me taking my mac back in?

reinstall the OS. don't over react because this is a computer, sometimes the processing produces some errors. this happens -PC or Mac. don't expect to be handfed everything like some Apple customers who expect "a perfect working computer out of the box." it might just be a glitch so there isn't a need to go nuts unless you are completely incapable of doing anything on the computer to get it working right. anybody who has worked on a computer knows that a computer WILL have glitches now and then; this is nothing to lose sleep over.

if the ***** ain't smoking, beeping or about to blow up in your face or going nuts like a kid on caffeine, you CAN fix it with some basic know-how.
