Past 2 mornings when I got up my AW showed that I had 8 stand hours already. Thing is I know I was quite soundly asleep in my bed for most of those hours (I'm over 50 so yes I was probably up once in the night).

So I do know I don't sleep walk. Anyone having issues with stand hours being completed when you most certainly were not standing?

Many of us started to sleep walk after 3.1.1 / .3 update. :)
At least it got worse. Annoying bug.

Yep, same here! I have reported the bug to Apple as well.

My watch (S2) was consistently recording 3 or 4 stand hours each night during sleep. I updated to watchOS 3.2 yesterday and did not have a single stand hour recorded while sleeping last night. I wonder if this is something that was improved in the latest OS? I will report back after another few nights.

I've had this happen a couple of times - and when it does, I've had "unrestful" sleep. I think there might be more to this so I ask - are you sleeping soundly? I'm wondering if this could also be more of a case of a sleep disorder like sleep apnea - which might have long term health implications...

Pretty sure I slept soundly. It only started after the last WatchOS update. Typically I previously got one stand hour in the middle of the night when I have to make my middle-age middle of the night trip to the washroom.

I have a suspicion it's the way your hand is when you sleep... Sleep on my side with wrist down towards bed (left wrist).... Now I get credit for an hour of standing if I leave it that way for a few minutes. Sleep on my back? No credit for standing. Sleep on my left side? wrist point up or flat on bed... no credit.

This is exactly what I've been thinking. Some mornings I have almost every hours completed, some mornings none. And I don't move much while sleeping.

It'll be you moving. The watch isn't designed to be slept in so I guess the tech isn't looking out to decide if you're just moving in your sleep or not.

On that note - what apps are you guys using to measure sleep? I'm thinking of doing this and charging while I'm in the shower.

My wife always says that I'm almost dead when I sleep. :)
This problem hasn't been there until latest updates.

I'm using AutoSleep (ver3). Have tried all sleep apps I know. This is the best. That's my opinion though.

My sleep hasn't changed otherwise that would seem a possibility.

I use Sleep++ for tracking sleep.

I haven't had an incorrect middle of the night stand recorded since updating to watchOS 3.2, so I am starting to believe this issue was addressed in the latest OS update.

I sleep in my watch and it has been perfectly accurate with how many times I get up in the night until the 3.1.3 update. Every night, I am now getting about 6 hours of activity. I had done a hard reset like others recommended, but it still is not working properly. I have a feeling that it will be fixed in another update soon.

Thanks for the tip on AutoSleep. It is exactly what I have been wanting. It is great that I don't have to start and stop it. It really is auto and already showed what I did last night before I even downloaded it.

Exact same situation here.

So apparently this has been happening for at least 2 and a half years!

I’ve only had my Watch for a few weeks and it is recording Stand Hours whilst I’m asleep.

Appears I’m not alone.

Is the Watch faulty or is this a widespread and longstanding frustration?

Which Apple Watch do you have and what version of OS is it running?
Also, do you wear your watch while you sleep or charge it over night or just leave it aside?

My wife once woke up to having 38 minutes of exercise at 6 o'clock in the morning.

1 month old Nike+ S4 with latest WatchOS and latest iOS on my XR.

I charge it at a convenient point during each day (ideally some point when I know I’m not going to be active) so I can wear it every night for sleep monitoring.

I’ve noticed too often that it’s recording Stand Hours whilst I sleep.

Is there a specific program that you use for sleep monitoring? Maybe the sensors are a little too sensitive if a sleep monitoring program is used?

Without including sleep walking as a reason, I would say that moving around in your sleep (dreams) would trigger the stand hours.
