Just purchased a 2017 nTB on sale, I figure with the keyboard repair program and possibly AppleCare, this machine will last me for a few years or longer.

I have a 15 inch 2018 2,6 since december 2018. Flawless for em till now. Not a single issue. Got Apple Care just in case.

Had a 13 inch 2017 model (also with apple care) before this and sold that to a family member. That one is also still running perfectly. That machine is almost 2 years old now.

This is one of the reasons I decided to take the plunge on one. It's rated the best in reliability and customer satisfaction out of all laptop manufacturers. It makes sense really. So many people buy this laptop, there's bound to be a higher number of problems reported compared to other laptops that sell less and therefore have less potential for going wrong. Like others have said in the thread, Apple is actually doing extremely well selling these despite the high prices and all the common issues, so clearly they're doing something right. It's also popular to hate on Apple for anything and everything now, so.

I think it’s true that the keyboard issues may seem a little blown out of proportion. However, I had issues in about 5 months, and I know multiple people who’ve had issues with their keyboards. I could never say either of those things in the past. I even know of situations where keyboards have been replaced more than once.

I wish I could get over it, but I just couldn’t keep using it with the feeling that it would have more issues. The genius who repaired mine even told me that it was a bad design and they’re fixing a lot of them. He suggested I get Unsticky, which was crazy to me. I shouldn’t have to install third party software to get my keyboard to work.

Those with no issues - I’m happy for you, and I hope you don’t have any. Hopefully I’ll rejoin you all in 2 or 3 years.

I've had my late late 2018/19 since, well 3 weeks ago. So far the only issue is that I am trying to get used to the keyboard since I am coming from a 2009 Unibody 15" MBP.
Seems pretty solid and the battery life is exceptional, even driving two 27" non-4k displays and the Retina display at the same time.

No issues with my 2018 either. My 2016 had the top case replaced due to keys not working. Just ordered a 2019, so hopefully no issues there either.

I've had my 13" since August 2018 and have had no problems at all with it so far.

My first 2018 was plagued with T2 issues and Apple eventually replaced it with a new in box 2018 (six months later). This new one was problem free until the "supplemental update" for the T2 and has crashed twice since. Figures ;)
