Makes sense.

I'm not a fan of most of the huge Tech21 camera cutouts and lose fitting cases.

----------

I couldnt agree more.

The camera holes are unnecessarily large, and with the antenna bands, it makes it quite unappealing imo. I tried on the evomesh, which is their smallest camera cutout, and that was still too big and the case would come right off.

Currently sticking with my Atmos x3. Excellent drop protection, slim and a small camera cutout.

Personally I like the MS over the Grip. I think it looks pretty cool but way too expensive. Anyone try that new version of the MightyShell that comes with a faceplate screen protector?

I haven't tried the Mightyshell yet, but do you feel it's more protective than the grip? I have used the CandyShell Faceplate before and it wasn't bad, but I'm not a fan of it.

Am I the only obsessed with buying cases?

I've never used the Grip CS so can't really speak for it. I did try on the MS and really liked it. I like the matte finish and looks like it will hold up better against scratches than the Grip, but then again the MS is more prone to slipping outta your hand then the Grip (hence the name CS Grip)

In my opinion the CS Grip isn't really the best looking case, but the rubber lines on the back of the case serve its purpose and it seems to be a very popular case in these forums.

The major deal breaker for the MS is the price. Slightly overpriced. Actually, too overpriced.

Love my MS. Use it as my everyday case. i have the Magpul, Caudate, Mophie Air, Mcdodo, Seidio w holster and Zhuegoo.

I am a little puzzled when I read comments about the MS being slick, or slippery in the hand. Now the polycarbonate back on the case may be a little slick, but I think that the thermoplastic urethane band around the edges of the case is very tacky, almost to the point of being too sticky as far as pulling the phone out of my jeans pocket etc.

I feel more secure using my MS than any other case I have used in terms of phone protection and grip combined. In fact, if I ever leave the MS, it will probably be for a Magpul Bump, because I think it will probably equal the MS in providing phone protection, but would be a little less grippy. In addition to that, I just get a really good feeling carrying the US made Magpul.:)

Very nice! I may have to take a look at Kristin's Atmos x3 review again.

You're killing me AE14! :D

The x3 bows out in the middle of the case, right? I'm not sure if I would like that. Is it noticeable to you? Easy to install and remove compared to the CS Grip?

Sorry. Those are the 2 cases I struggle with as well. The Atmos is thinner and imo made of better materials. It does now out but that makes it easier to grip. Also it offers better drop protection and is only $30 on Amazon right now. Best buy will price match too

Thanks! Looking at her review, it doesn't look it has much of a lip?

it doesnt. I use a glass screen protector with it. My biggest issue truly is whether to keep the black or the white. Drives me crazy lol

So here is the irony of the Thule discussion

Today is my birthday. We went out for a family dog walk. I unfortunately took my 6 plus out of my pocket to check the basketball scores and my 12 year old daughter decided to be silly with me. She body checked my and my phone went straight in the air. It landed in a hard thud on the corner of the case right on the concrete sidewalk. I hesitantly picked it up and not a mark on the phone. The case had a slight ding on it, nothing terrible. So needless to say, it is quite durable from a 6 foot drop.

Happy birthday! Glad your phone is ok and the case did what it's supposed to do! :)

Man..from time to time I hear story like that and it gives me the chills..

I'm loving my Zoogue the most at the moment, but when playing with my baby, I get real nervous cause you never know what'll happen.

A month or so ago I had a cup of coffee in one hand and the baby in the other... And don't exactly know what happened but the next moment my coffee went flying in the air.. I Was trying to be careful to keep the coffee hand farther from the baby hand, but stuff still happens. Luckily it was in a paper cup and it wasn't my phone instead!

thank you

I definitely had the panic moment. I felt bad for my daughter. She was panicked. Sweet kid :)

The Thule did its job well. I was greatly impressed and could not recommend it higher. Especially considering the price it is on amazon for that level of protection and "leanness"

The Thule Atmos X3 is simply an awesome case. Not that much of a lip--I wish it had more--but that, and the small lightning port opening--are really my only gripes. It's an outstanding case overall. Glad it saved your iPhone!

Kristin,

If you can, can you post a side view pic of the Thule showing the lip?

I would like to try this case, but just concerned about lack of lip. Thanks!

Ok, here you go. Keep in mind I have a Zagg Glass on the phone:

There are also some pics that show the lip on my review of the iPhone 6 version:

Hope this helps!!

Thanks Kristin!! Using it now and I love it. Review to come

Well, after trying numerous cases, many of which raised the tempered glass screen cover and causing me to remove and reposition it quite a few times, and I finally ruined it. Went back and bit the bullet and bought another new one and had it installed by the phone center. The only case that I own that I can install and not touch the screen protector at all is my Magpul Field case, so that's what my phone is going to be wearing. Question, after buying the tempered glass protector and having it installed, the guy said something about a plastic cover that they had that would have been the same price, but it is installed by machine, rolled on, and the fit would always be perfect, and it's less affected by the lips on cases touching it. Would have been good to know before I bought the glass one.

Question, would this have been what is often referred to as "Slick Wrap" on this forum?

I hung it up and went with glass that just protects the screen.

No worries about swapping cases and unless somehow there's a lucky direct hit on the edge between the glass and case's raised lip, it adds protection.

When I had the Benks edge to edge, it worked with the the Magpul perfectly. It seems the Magpul provides just enough relief to allow edge to edge protectors to work.

Which edge to edge are you using?
