Am I the only obsessed with buying cases?

I have...

-Verus Case
-Dog & Bone Wetsuit
-Lifeproof Fre
-Apple silicone
-Anker Case
-Power Support
-Ringke Slim
-RooCase
-SupCase Unicorn Beetle(that was one I forgot lol)

Feel like I'm forgetting something haha

My obsession only goes as far as finding a case I'm 100% happy with, which hasn't quite happened yet. I've got about 6 right now and I returned one or two.

Yes, this is exactly describes my process. One of the best cases that I have seen as far as packaging is the Tech21 D30 case for my 5s. The packaging is designed so that you can easily take the case out and examine it without damaging the package. I wish more manufacturers would follow suit, would make the search easier. I had to pass on the Tech 21, great looking case and sure it would be very durable and protective, but I just couldn't deal with the hard to press lock screen button. The packaging let me make that decision without buying it and then returning it.

just picked up the Spigen air case in gumetal for my SG 6 Plus, super nice! thin, feels great, i'll probably have it on the phone for a few weeks at least!

That's exactly the rationale leading to hoarding phone cases that the majority of the thread participants engage in.

You want clicky buttons? Magpul's got that in spades. In spades, I tell 'ya.

..you're certainly not obsessed!!! I had tons for my iPhone 5 - so many, I could have opened up a shop!

Now I have an iPhone 6, I have made a point of not going mad on cases again - I only have 3 or 4!

The thing is with these cases is that they really are a waste of money!!! You buy a case which you think is 'The One' and then a few weeks later, you decide that it is no longer 'The One' and so you buy another one - and the process repeats! Inevitably, you end up with a stack of cases which have no re-sell value and just gather dust!! :(

Honestly, this thread kind of gave me a good idea; we should put together a MR used case club and share the expenses instead of all of us spending 300-400 each. If we got a circle of members say even just 10 of us and we all agreed to buy 1 or 2 each of all the most popular ones we will all try anyway, and once we decide its a no go on a case, send out a thread notification it's available and standard shipping will only cost total about 30-40 bucks 8-10 trips to the post office and we can all rotate them LOL. Obviously, if there was a case we wanted to keep for good like the Apple leather case, we'd just buy it outright and not put it into rotation but for cases we are all interested in but not committed to keeping we could give it a try, especially for ppl who live a ways away from a BB/Apple store etc. I know it sounds funny but I know I would have appreciated it for the 5 and 5S since I went through (at least):

2 Apple leather cases
At least 3 ElementCase Bumpers Vapor Pros and Comps
12South BookBook
12South SurfacePad
invisibleShield Orbit
Vaja La Pelle
3 Mophie's
Otterboxe Resurgence
Moshi clear case
Castillo Davarg leather folio
Sena Ultraslim sleeve
Belkin Lego case
Tech 21 orange/clear case
Otterbox Symmetry
Otterboxe Defender
Kate Spade case (wife's girly one)
Speck Candyshell (wife's girly one)
Incipio Feather
Lifeproof Fre (wife's girly one)
And there must have been more!?!?

And now for the 6 I've already gone through:

Speck Candyshell grip
Apple leather case
Incipio DualPro Edge
Sena Ultraslim Heritage
CaseMate leather wallet, returned

But decided I'm done. Sick and tired of returning and spending tons unless we could get something like this in motion. Just a thought lol

hahahaha i just came by this thread now. I guess i got diagnosed with that syndrome as well. I have iPhone 6 and currently have 4 cases and 2 bumper cases....and bidding on 3 on eBay....oh no what am i doing!?

stsizzle, you had quite a collection for the 5s, lol. Just curious, what did you think of the Otterbox Symmetry, and of all those cases you listed, which was your favorite?

Nope, you aren't the only one. I've had my 5s since the end of November, and I have 4 cases for it, and have exchanged a couple. The wife is about to disown me.:)

Thought I was the only one. Got my 6 plus only about one month ago and have already gone thru 5 cases plus a battery case. Have kept 2 of them and returned or exchanged the other 3.

My wife thinks I'm crazy and can't make up my mind. She bought one case for her 5s and stuck it out till it was falling apart (it's the folio type) and then went and bought another one. Wish it was so simple for me!

What I've tried:
Thule Atmos X3. Returned
I-blason battery case. Returned
Griffin Survivor Core. Kept
Trentium 6L case. Just got it and liking it a lot but still testing it out
Ballistic Tungsten slim and tough. Best buy exclusives. Returned both.

Am I the only one? I just got the 6 today and already I'm obsessed with finding more cases and seeing which one will catch my eye.. I had like 6 or 7 for my 5S so I'm thinking this won't be any different.

God no. I have, for my 6+,

4 Apple leather,
2 Apple silicon,
4 twelve south surface pads,
2 wooden Carved cases,
8 plastic type clear cases and
5 bumper style things.

Love the Apple things, really REALLY LOVE THE SURFACE PADS but simply adore the reconstituted ebony wooden case from Carved.Com that I now use almost exclusively with my aegis 3d tempered glass screen protector.

An ideal combo.

The symmetry was really nice but a little too thick for my liking. It was also a bit too slippery. But the fit, feeling in the hand, everything else was awesome.

By far my favorite case for the 5/5S was the Thule Atmos X3. Grippy but not too much, thinner than most cases but sill very protective. I'm disappointed in how the Thule case came out for the 6/6+ but it's impeccable for the 5/5S.

I've had so many cases (some returned) its ridiculous. Just picked up the Tech21 Evo Mesh in white from the Apple store. Very nice!!

Okay, for my 6 plus.

Apple leather - returned for swelling when wet.
Apple silicone - returned for getting worn-looking within days.
Luvvitt clear - returned for feeling weirdly slithery on the round edges.
UAG Maverick - returned for having its logo partially overlaid over the Apple logo.

Keepers:
Zoogue Social Pro, in black and in ice frost.
Magpul Field Case in gray.

Incoming:
Diztronic Full Matte Charcoal Gray Flexible TPU
Ringke Slim FS Black

Yep, Evo Mesh is a keeper.

Ok, I swear that I picked up my last new case for my Iphone 5s today:eek:, an Otterbox Symmetry. I really like this case a lot. Yes, as others have stated, the outer hard shell is a little slick, but the softer inner-lining is tacky enough that it provides adequate grip. I know it's all subjective, but this one really works for me. I now have a total of about 7 cases for this phone, but I will probably be down to using only about 2 of them. This Symmetry will get most of the use, but I will use the Puregear holster/case combo in the summertime when wearing a no-pocket T shirt. I'm an older guy who wears jeans all the time and I don't carry my cellphone in my jeans pockets. Lol.

I agree!

I just purchased another Tech21 Evo Mesh case for my 6 Plus, this time in blue. The blue, on Apple's website, shows real well with the white.

I now have the clear/white, which rocks. I guess you can't have too many cases. :D
