In context, replying to the OP in such a way indicates that you believe their happiness does depend on phones. It's possible to be happy about something, yet your overall happiness does not depend on that one thing.

I've come to realize that these devices will not be reinvented every time a new one comes out. We've somewhat reached a point of diminishing returns. I always planned on upgrading to the 4.7. To be honest I'm happy with my current iPhone 5 size and all as it does pretty much all I need it to do. I just want to get a new phone as I don't want to wait until the 6s or whatever to upgrade.

Everything I was worried about was alleviated. Now i just hope its not supply constraint.

You are implying, and implicitly accepting, that an overall happiness exists, and that it does not depend on one thing.
Defining happiness as the state of being happy implies that it is conditioned by, and caused by, events that can or not be related between them; that is, a single one can determine such a state.
An example of such an event is a phone, in the OP's case.

I don't want a larger phone and certainly not a phablet. Apple Pay is about the only interesting part of this.
