Fault

That is AT&T's fault, not Apple's. You could clearly see in the keynote that they were not happy with AT&T either...

I never said the tethering/mms issue was Apple's fault. :p

The only thing that is Apple's "fault" is being behind a couple years in regards to other software (3.0).

And to the person that mentioned the imminent launch of tethering in the US (summer)...where did you hear/see this announcement?

But Mark Siegel, media relations executive director of AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets, said the carrier would roll out both soon. “It’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when,” he said. MMS functions would be active by the of the summer, and tethering would be supported, but AT&T is not ready to announce a time frame or whether there is an additional monthly price for the feature.

And now that they've added those software features (and more hardware upgrades than any other iPhone ever released), you try to make the point that this iPhone is all hype and has no return???

I'm excited....

At first I was really bummed that AT&T isn't offering MMS and tethering out of the chute but I'm over that. It is what it is and both features will be out soon. Furthermore, even *without* MMS and tethering, IMHO the iPhone is still the best smartphone on the market...hands down.
