It's definitely Apple silicone, the new ones for the 7/7+ do not have the ring around them due to the bigger camera cut out. Take a look on the apple website and you'll see.

The only complaint I have is that the other solid suit styles have a microfiber interior while the carbon fiber doesn't. Not sure why the difference.
