lol what? What's wrong with it?

So many different things. It's only usable 1/10 times I reach up there. I don't know what the core issue is that's truly "wrong" with it, but as far as symptoms, the buttons overlap and slide around on top of each other and glitch out, show up half-animated, some of them do nothing when you press them, some of them do something that makes no sense, like the "graph-looking" button that helpfully slides to the left and turns into a big blank space when you click it (no idea), blank buttons showing up constantly, clicking "customize touch bar" and it showing you options for a completely different app. Just a billion problems.

Here are some of the ones that always occur. The rest happen randomly and I can't call up to take a picture right now.

YES! I made a thread about this actually haha. It's such a minor thing that I felt stupid even posting about it.

Chiming in to say that I love nearly everything about my 13" tMBP and still marvel at how well built the machine is every time I pick it up. The screen is gorgeous, the keyboard is fantastic (typing faster than ever), Touch ID is super convenient, the Touch Bar is cool and has endless possibilities (especially with recent BetterTouchTool integration), and the speakers are the best I've heard on any laptop.

Battery life is a little less than expected, but in my opinion it's still good, as I get anywhere from 6-8 hours with my typical workload. Not as good as my previous MacBook Air, but fine for the way I use it.
Haha. What's wrong with you and @runner77 ?! jk. I can see how a little detail like that can be annoying especially as Apple-attention-to-detail fans. Since we are nitpicking, I haven't really found anything to annoy me yet. And I honestly keep looking. I heard about the bottom plate being thin, but it feels pretty solid to me. The bezel could be a little thinner like the XPS, except I wouldn't want to trade that to have a camera below the screen. One usb-a would've been nice, but it hasn't slowed me down at all. Lightning for headphones would have been nice if I ever buy lightning headphones. Again, no actual implications to my experience. You can compare specs, but the actual experience is really fast. I'm not pushing it to the limits, so not relevant to me. Hard to open with one hand because the magnet is strong and the bottom is so light. I have to relearn MS Office hotkeys for Mac. Speaker sound doesn't really come out of the speaker vents. I'm reaching, trying to find anything that pisses me off about it, but nothing really yet. YMMV. Durability, repair, could be problems, but that's speculation right now.

My feelings can be summed up in this video. Just replace $5 with $2500.

After reading the threads here, I wasn't even excited to get mine anymore, but I am really liking it so far. It's crazy fast compared to my old 2010 MBP. Luckily, I am having none of the graphics or battery issues mentioned. So far, I am indifferent to the touch bar. It's definitely not magical to me yet.

Thank you for starting this thread. I'm trying to wait for the dust to settle, but I really want this and the [totally valid!] complaints on other threads are a little overwhelming. Maybe I'll get lucky and get a good one too.

I love mine!
It's incredible how delusional people can get over a price increase.
That said, I agree it's probably $300-400 more than it should be. Other than that, I have been very happy so far!

I have the 15.4 256 and it is just super....no issues. The speed of the SSD is insanely fast!!!!!

I've had mine for about a week, now. I love it. 15" Space Gray 2.6/16GB/1TB/450. Battery life is lasting me all day for the way I use it. Haven't used iMovie or Logic, yet. Mostly Safari and MacJournal.

Yes, the keys are taking a bit of time to get used to. Yes, they make more noise than my Mac Air. But that will work itself out. Everything about the machine is solid, clean, and pro. No fan noise. Looking forward to loading up Reaktor 6 and Logic Pro to see what it can do.

Very happy with mine. Big, beautiful screen. Love the new keyboard. Feels faster than my 3.5GHz i7 iMac (haven't run Geekbench 4 on the iMac, so it may very well be faster).

It's too early for me to say yet, but hopefully I will love it. I love the display. I love how fast it is. I love the build quality.

Not loving the giant trackpad (it keeps thinking I'm right clicking when I'm not--palm recognition is bad). The keyboard seems to be okay, not as bad as people were suspecting, but I wouldn't say it's an improvement on the last model. The TouchBar is not proving to be useful to me yet, but it's not bad. And I wish it had optical audio out, but that's just the audiophile in me talking.

You can't have everything. I'm decently happy with it, though.

You will likely grow to love the keyboard as you use it and adjust. For me, something clicked and I love using it now, I look forward to typing on it and type faster and more accurately. My hands crawl around on it, no more hen pecking. The track pad can be adjusted..I don't have any issues with palm or anything. The entire experience of keyboard and trackpad might be one of the best features of this laptop quite honestly.

I love mine (15")! I actually like the keyboard, I get 7-11 hours battery-life depending on usage. No issues. I used to think the TouchBar was nice but just a novelty, but now that I've been customizing it I find it very useful. I did spend about $500 more than I really wanted to, but for a device I will probably use everyday for years, I decided that was actually not significant.

I read some guy in another thread canceled his order because of all the things he read. If that is really true, it is a shame.

The keyboard I can see getting used to, but I'm not sure about the trackpad. I always have right click set to the bottom right corner; that's what I've done with every MacBook I've owned, so now that I can't do it, it's kind of a bummer. But we'll see I guess.

I love my 15" TB. Its by far better than I even expected. I love the touch-bar. Battery life is amazing and I can't believe how quickly it charges. The size and shape is a dream. Considering everything, I think this is the single biggest advancement ever in a laptop. Battery life is amazing and I can't believe how quickly it charges.

Yeah that really sucks. The only person who lost is the guy who cancelled. Unfortunately he believed the haters, many of whom (not all) were talking out of their a*s. I don't want to get into it, but this is why some of us try to balance the argument. Glad for threads like this for real users who are loving it. I guess a couple people are "meh", but overwhelmingly "wow".

Happy here. Keyboard is an improvement for me coming off a 15’ rMB. I also like the extra trackpad space. TB is insane and I really love the fingerprint access. Screen is likely the best our there. I liked the 2lbs. vs. 3lbs. the rMB offered but not too much.

My battery life and Geekbench are very good but I’m returning this one for a 16gb version.

13” TB 2.9, 8 Gb, 256

What I don't understand is why anyone would buy based on what others have to say, good, bad or indifferent... Apple has a minimum 2-week return period that's extended right now for the holidays.. Someone has nothing to loose by trying for themselves.. If they like it, cool and it's bought and paid for and if they don't like it, bring it back for a full refund, no questions asked...

I understand these threads might help someone lean in either direction but the bottom line is they have nothing to loose by trying it 1st hand...

Came from an i7 2015 13" rMBP. now TB 13" i5. Fast and smooth. great screen, and same battery life. Today was a bunch of mail, word, excel documents...lasted 11 hours. Yesterday Win 10 VM in Parallels, synching to onedrive and time machine backup, about 6 hours on battery. Same or better than last years model. with the decreased weight and size and touch bar (still not in love nor hate), it's a great machine.

I would never cancel because of what I read, but I'm experiencing some of the problems I read about, so it is a bit disappointing. Still not sure if I'm going to keep it, but I kind of have to because there's really no alternative when you hate Windows as much as I do. Might consider an iMac tho.

13" nTB, absolutely love it. Zero complaints. Best laptop Apple has ever put out, great screen, great battery life, fantastic audio/speakers, and I can type ridiculously fast on this new style of keyboard. For $1,499 I consider it a steal.

Funny you and @raqball replied to that, as you were the two "meh" users I recalled. Fair points, sucks that it's not exceeding your expectations.

count me in, I really love this MacBook pro 2016 ... dunno why else say something bad about this product, I think this is an amazing :apple: laptop, great all around performance also it is very unique :)

Mine is fine and I like it.. I am not seeing the usefulness of TB so maybe that will come in time.. The TB is cool and all but it's not very useful or practical... Other than that, I like everything about it except the price..

I don't have any of the issues some are having graphic wise and my battery life is okay'ish. I assume Apple will do some software magic via updates to fix some of the battery problems so I am not all that concerned about it at the moment.

I really dig the size and weight of the new machines and I really like the KB and the large trackpad. The screen and sound are improved so that's a bonus as well. USB C and a dongle or 2 are fine for me. I'd prefer a SD card slot but can live without it...

I am still waiting for mine to come which is expected to arrive end of this month. I hope I can be happy with mine as well and be able to say something positive in this thread. :)

I love my 13" Touch Bar MacBook Pro but I am also getting that issue on mine and it is a bit annoying, hopefully they'll fix it with a software update.
