That must be some good Kool-Aid.

This beast has up to 8 hours of battery life and is otherwise superior in spec. The only thing it doesn't have is a SSD (which you could add yourself for cheap) and it's not as thin as the Air (yet isn't that much heavier). It's $100 less than the Air - meaning if you did add a basic SSD, you'd be right at the Air's price point with SUBSTANTIALLY more horsepower. It's machines like this that piss me off about Apple and people who keep defending the overpricing. Would I buy this Aspire? No, because that screen size is too small for me, but it's an AMAZING deal.

I am not going to lie, the specs on that are pretty nice and it not bad looking either. However, with that said the screen isn't as nice or good as the matte-ish screen on my Vaio, or the Air. I think specs for the price point could be a little better, plus the trackpad look awful(and maybe even smaller than my Vaio). I think Acer in parts of Europe and in Asia they offer a model with integrated ATI gpu that suppose to be slightly better than ION2, but I could be wrong here.

Scottsdale, what do you think about the keyboard on the updated MBA? Is it as good as RevC or is it just the same as the MBP?

I've been waiting for a Mac to really replace "the love of my life" (PB12") the last 3 years and I'm very happy with this upgrade. I ordered the top spec 11,6" the second the apple store was up again.

I think the MBA is the perfect extra mac for people that already have an iMac, MP or MBP. Since many of us have large libraries I don't think it's capable enough to be the one and only mac in a household.
