Yeah the 17 inch is a bit odd looking compared to the other two sizes and I agree with some of the reasons given for that. But it's still on my shopping list next update.
to be honest, i think the 15" looks the dorkiest. something about the thin strip of speakers flanking the keyboards looks strange to me. i can't take the 13 inch seriously because i have never used a laptop other than a 17". The 17" however, looks like natalie portman and kiera knightly had a lovechild.
So basically, you think all of them are weird?

Yeah, but have you heard how good the sound is coming from those larger, wider set speakers (and probably slightly larger woofer too)? No other laptop has a better out of box sound field than the 17" MBP.
Honestly, I wish Apple would redo the keyboard on the 17 to include a numeric keypad. With this change, I might even consider the 17. It certainly has the real-estate for this change.
Yeah its definitely the keyboard. They could have stuck a number pad in there somewhere maybe.
17" needs a numeric keypad. 'Nuff said.
They all look great... 13 is still the best
I mean seriously? All apple computers around today will look better than any pc in 4 years. To say one looks "funny"?
And though natalie portman and kiera knightly (spspspsp) aren't the best, they still look great. First a macbook pro looks funny, then Portman and knightley (spspsp)?
Maybe Angelina Jolie and Natalie Portman? That'd be my vote.
are the speakers on the 17 actually different from the 15? the guy in the apple store told me they weren't. what a dick.
Even in the old PowerBook days, there was just something asthetically unpleasing about the 17", the 15" and 13" (12" in the PB days) have always looked quite good but there is something about the 17" that makes it look, unbalenced? Even though it's symetrical like the others. Hmmm, perhaps it's just me.
