Plus the 2021 model has a fan. The absence of the fan on the 2022 model has come into question recently as people have posted about it being an issue while watching 4K content.

Interesting. So first the iPhone 14, then the entry level M2 MacBook… now I’m hearing the 2022 Apple TV is in some respects a downgrade from the previous model?

Edit: some other users who own it chimed in to say they have no issues with the 2022 Apple TV using 4K

This was definitely a stealthy cost cutting year for Apple.

My current 128 GB Apple TV works fine. The only issue is apps having to relaunch but it's the app's fault not the Apple TV as my 1st Gen 32 GB Apple TV did the same thing.

Watch nothing but 4K content on my 2022 ATV4K and haven’t noticed any performance hit. On the contrary, it is significantly quicker opening and buffering content than my 2017 ATV4K.

Yeah, it’s annoying, but at least Apple came a little bit down to earth with the prices of this year’s Apple TV. Hopefully that trend continues with the next Apple TV with a starting price of $99 for the 64GB model.

2022 4K with 64GB is only $124 at Amazon. Knowing myself I will be annoyed afterward if I didn't just spring for the extra $45. lol. What is annoying is I can't find any deals on Home Pod mini. The Google Nest mini is selling for $18 at Wally World.

Yep! I bought the AirPods 2nd gen yesterday for my wife but she found her lost pair so I cancelled that order and got this instead for the master bedroom.

We have an Xfinity Flex streaming box in there now and the UI experience just isn’t the same. The remote is nice but that’s about it.

I just ordered a returned one for $63, got to be a new low for that too. They say average quality, usually that means box is banged up but everything else is fine.

Saw the price this morning and didn't purchase. Shopped online for the kids all day and went back and it is at $99 now. I hate that I missed it. I don't really need another AppleTV 4K but for $80 I was going to buy one for one of my other rooms. Going to keep an eye out because sometimes Amazon puts up deals, ups the the price, and then changes them back to the lower price again. Hopefully that happens again with this.

😂 I posted that and it came back in less than an hour. I just ordered another one!! One of the problematic 4K Firesticks or Cubes is about to be replaced!

I wonder if that’s what Steve Jobs was referring to with thE “I finally cracked it” comment. It’s still way better than everything else I’ve seen.

Check the Verizon $79 HomePod mini link in this article. It says the deal expired and that it was for yellow only, but I JUST looked and orange and blue are now also showing at the discounted price. White and Space Gray are sold out.
