I took my 5s to the Apple Store and got $310 for it. No box, EarPods, or Charger.
They only give you store credit though, right?
If i'm going to get store credit, I prefer Amazon for the obvious reasons.

I just applied the gift card to the purchase of the 6 Plus. Made the phone $189, as it got the 128gb.
how picky are they about the accessories?
like new is showing $250, good is showing $215.
My 5 is in mint shape and i have the box. but no extra earbuds or charger/lightning cable.
I think theyre probably dealing with a large volume of trade ins right now, with a new iPhone just being released. Mine took several days to process as well. Now a little venting about my recent experience:
Ive traded in with Amazon in the past and had good experiences, but I really feel like they screwed me this last time out. Last year, I traded in my year old iPhone 5 and they paid me full like new condition for it. I also traded in two old iPhone 4s and they paid good on those. This year however, I sent in my unlocked 5s and tried for like new again, even though it had a small nick on one corner. I would have understood if they had only rated it good, but I was stunned when they called it acceptable and only paid $100 for it. I also sent in an iPhone 5 that had lived its whole life in a case and was in great shape and they called that one acceptable as well. I never dreamed they would rate them that low, so I didnt select the return items option.
So I take it as a lesson learned. If I ever decide to use them again in the future, I would definitely select the option to have the items returned if they are judged to be in lower than the requested condition.

Oh wow, that's different from their old requirements. Previously, good condition was normal wear and tear (no major dings or scratches), no box or accessories needed. With trade-in values seemingly going down across the board, Next/Edge trade-in is starting to look very attractive indeed for those who don't fancy going through the hassles of selling.for "like new" condition, Amazon specifically says it must come with all original accessories and the box. for "good" condition, all you need is the charger/lightening cable, and i think the box as well.
Amazon spells it out pretty clearly on the page where you select the condition.
I have used this service before and was lulled into believing it was fair and credible. I sent in an iPhone 5 with original box, instructions and accessories in what I thought to be like new condition....which should have resulted in $235...good condition would have been $175 so I must have checked do not return. They advised me it was reclassified to acceptable and sent me $5. this is nothing but THEFT! I PLAN ON FILING A SMALL CLAIMS COURT PETITION FOR CONVERSION ...THIS IS JUST WRONG. Customer Service offered me $50...I told the to keep it as to treat a good customer this way they must need it more than me!![]()
That makes no sense. I don't know what model iPhone 5 it was, but even acceptable should be over $100 for any model.
Yeah, that's why I'm thinking of not trying again to trade-in my iPhone 5 with Amazon. Other places may offer less money, but at least they are more consistent and don't yank your chain.
Wait....the apple store gives you apple credit if you trade in in store? I didn't realize they did that.
Yes, they sure do. You can sent it in, to just trade it in, when you buy the iPhone.
