Excellent!

I have loved reading books on my iphone through the Kindle app! I was completely skeptical at first (screen being so small and all), but I've devoured four books in the past couple of weeks. I have a vision disability and, interestingly, the small screen, the possibility for a larger font size, and the back lighting make it really easy to read. AND, of course, I always have a "book" with me!

The biggest drawback, so far, has been the purchasing of books. On the Mac then back to the iPhone. I'd request samples for a number of books then I would forget how much each of them cost. (This is still an issue, actually. When you finally decide to purchase the whole book from the iphone, the app should tell you the price when you click the purchase button.)

Anywho.... excellent step in the right direction.

i use kindle on iphone outside the US

i'm not sure what you people are talking about.
i have the kindle app on my iphone, and i am in India.
i love it, it works very well. i have 2 dozen books and it's so much better to carry them on my iphone rather than having to carry physical books.

there are a couple books i want that are not available yet for the iphone kindle app, but many great ones are.
oh and the kindle versions are cheaper than the paper versions. sometimes WAY cheaper.

all i do is log onto amazon.com, link my iphone to my account (just the first time), buy a kindle book online, and the next time i launch my app with wifi on, the book is automagically delivered. quickly.
plus, i can preview for free the first 20 or 30 pages of any book they have for sale, which is a great feature.

again, i buy the books online in india, and they are delivered to my iphone in india

physical books are great, but if you are traveling and don't want the bulk, the iphone kindle app rocks.

there are 5 different font sizes, and you can read black-on-white, white-on-black, or black-on-sepia (my fave).
