Anyone with a Kindle Fire HD get it to work? I checked and there is no info regarding Prime Music selection. Gotta love the Amazon OS.

I just don't get streaming services. How are they different than listening to the radio or to on-line radio? Or indeed how do they differ from the user-generated playlists that we used to see in iTunes? If I like a song I buy it. I don't want to rent songs.

I used to be a big buyer of music and TV shows, and the occasional movie, all from iTunes. But the reality is that my income level didn't make that sustainable. I've since subscribed to Netflix and enjoy endless content for a low monthly fee, and I generally listen to internet radio through iTunes because it offers access to songs that I otherwise would never find or listen to. Occasionally, if i really like a song that I hear, I'll take note of its name and may buy it. But I've found much more enjoyment from streamed music than listening to my own 2000+ library of purchased songs over and over again. And buying a TV show doesn't make a lot of sense. I'm not (at least very rarely) gonna watch them more than once.

Interesting addition. I'll take it, but shipping is my "prime" interest, and Amazon is cutting off more and more items all the time by classifying them as "add on".

I think Amazon is becoming a Jack-Of-All-Trades, master of none. Or maybe the all you can eat buffet w/ nothing appetizing being served. Prime is feature rich but the content is very thin. Is streaming mostly backlist albums going to sell more Amazon devices (phones, Fire TVs, etc) ? I kind of think not.

I agree, at the end of the day, content is what keeps people coming back. I just tried the service and the content is very, very thin. Of course, this will improve over time I'm sure, just like Prime instant Video has beefed up in the past year, but for now I'll stick with another alternative.

Amazon's 'Prime Music' was rumoured for quite some time now-I read about it months before the Beats purchase. I'm sure Apple was aware of such.

But what is Beat purchase going to be all about? Hardware or streaming music like Amazon & Spotify because we really still do not know the benefit behind it.

No, working fine here on iPad, iPhone, and desktop.

Figured the problem if anyone is having problems delete the app and reinstall it it fixes the hang.

Unless you stay in USA it doesn't make sense. Anyway, I am all settled with Qobuz and Spotify.

I just bought a few albums with a gift card, and none of them were available to stream. Yes, it's a very weak selection, and it really breaks the deal for most people. There's Daft Punk's Random Access Memories, but nothing by Sheryl Crow for example.

They're going to easily be the service that everyone will be poking at in their next keynotes if they don't get those deals within the next three months.

The playlists curation is a moot point when you don't even have the music to do it right to begin with.

People will live with it, which is the main response I'm seeing over at the Kindle related forums I go on, but overall they're not very happy with how it works.

DON'T trust Amazon when it comes to Prime

They dropped Scripps programming (Travel and Food Networks, HGTV, etc.) without a word and now you can pay for all the content that used to be free, with Prime! More and more items don't ship free with Prime. Don't count on getting all your items in 2 days either.
Hey its 2001 again with all the NEW blockbuster HBO shows. Live those season one shows all over again. The awesome Prime free movies are about as recent. Well, they did throw in a Tommy Cruise movie thats newer but you'll get the idea when you scroll through the list. Good for a few laughs.
25% increase for 50% less product. But if you want to live in the past, the new Prime's for you. Glad I just cancelled my membership before they charged me for another year.

This is a great deal for the casual listener. I just hope Amazon opens up and allows access to there entire ecosystem from more places.

Huh?
Roku, Apple TV, iPhone, Android, PC & Mac not enough? (I don't know if they run on Windows Phones or not)

Programming comes and goes, based on the agreements that they can make, this is true of every streaming provider (NetFlix, Blockbuster, Google Play, Redbox Instant, Amazon Prime, etc.).

I honestly find more and more items ship with Prime and there are constantly more being added to PrimeFresh. So I don't know what you are getting at.

Wonderful. Amazon raised the price of Prime $20 to give me a service I didn't want.

I'm sure it has literally nothing to do with the increasing cost of shipping, and Amazon's desire to not lose dumptrucks full of cash by offering 'free' 2-day shipping.

So if you did not want it than why did you subscribe to it or even bothered to consider subscribing to Amazon Prime? Amazon Prime is still cheaper than Netflix in a year and has a lot more to offer, all Netflix has movie streaming which rarely gets anything new but I do not really care because I got both Amazon Prime and Netflix.

I'd caution a guess that you aren't a very good DJ or music collector.

I mean, just searching initially I only found maybe one out of every 4 songs or albums I was looking for. Maybe that's my fault for not limiting my music tastes to only artists which have charted.

Also interested in examples. I have not played with it too much but I loaded a few playlists and albums and did some random searches that found music. What are a few that you looked for and could not find?

Still don't see how this competes with things like Spotify and Beats. Are there any big name artists those two are missing besides the Beatles? Or artists that aren't available anywhere like Garth Brooks and Def Leppard. I'm rarely missing anything on Spotify. Usually it's just artists that have exclusives with iTunes for a period of time or whatever. For example the new Coldplay album is not on Spotify but the single is.

I think there are going to be more than a few angry meetings in Cupertino today. Apple just lost millions of potential paying customers to this. Not to mention that little THREE BILLION DOLLAR screwup. lol

Apple paid about $500K for the Beats music streaming service. The bulk and majority of the buyout was for Beats hardware...the headphones.

I don't see any reasons for Apple to be panic at all. At the very least, they will sit back and watch this carefully. Amazon Prime still do not have Universal deal, which has almost 80% of the current top 40.

And Beats Music is only a small portion of that purchase. The combination of iTunes and Beats Music is going to be huge.

We still do not know what Beats is going to bring to Apple and as for Spotify they are still the top dog, Prime Music is basically Top 40, few albums and generic music from unknown artist usually could be found at Bath and Beyond or stores that use to be around like Linens & Things. Do not bother with EDM section it is pathetic.

The on off selector buttons are not labeled. Which way is off?

Oh okay I see what you mean now sorry I thought you meant it was already on, so when you agree for Amazon to access your Facebook account after that you can not shut it off? I think you need to go to Facebook and under apps remove it.

Oh, so unless you specifically give your FB password and approval to an app, they will not be able to post to your timeline?

The iPad App for Amazon music has switchable settings with no indicator labels for on or off. Sliding to the right turns orange. Is orange Off or On??
