I think there are going to be more than a few angry meetings in Cupertino today. Apple just lost millions of potential paying customers to this. Not to mention that little THREE BILLION DOLLAR screwup. lol
I agree. Apple's Beats acquisition probably just lost a boatload of money in valuation. I wonder if this was one of the factors that Iovine and Dre considered when making the sale to Apple (i.e. "they" got out while the getting was good).

I've been using the new Amazon Prime Music app on my iPhone for the last hour (both over LTE and WiFi) and it has worked flawlessly. It even works over Airplay to my Apple TV. I really can't see how anyone could complain about a million song library that can be accessed in any order and at any time. I've even downloaded several songs to my iPhone, the process is easy, quick, and painless (as long as I continue with my Prime membership, which I have no problem in doing).

Upon reading the article, I was excited about the prospects that Amazon was bringing to the table as I don't care for the Spotify model. Unfortunately the service is essentially Netflix for music: a seemingly big catalogue but nothing you are actually interested in listening to. Oh well, it was a good thought.

Am I the only one who's getting the selection is no longer available for prime music error on practically all songs listed in songs? It's really odd to list out songs only to tell me it's not available.

I cancelled after the price hike.

Amazon Prime: $99 a year for 2 day shipping and a bunch of mediocre streaming

Target Red: free membership, 5% off and no wait

LOL TARGET? Bro **** you dumb Amazon Prime:Music Streaming, 1 month book rentals, Movie/TV Show streaming, discounts for purchases of DVDs and more, you can purchase and rent movies through streaming for a low price because of prime and free 2 day shipping.

Target? MUAHAHA you still shopping at Best Buy? $100 for a whole bunch thing Prime is offering is pennies compared to what we should really be paying $400 or more for what Amazon offers customers.

Based on my first couple of hours of listening to their various playlists, their offerings aren't too bad, but it also suffers from the shortfalls that the Prime Video has, which would be that Amazon has a hard time separating the fee from the "free" part.

Glad to see that we can act like adults when discussing matters.

I'm not sure you understand his post. What he means is that they increased the price of the product because of a new feature that he doesn't want. What he wants is to pay the lesser price because the addition will not be used.

It's like buying a car, if next year the car comes standard with A/C and to offset the cost of making it standard they increased the price, but you live in a climate that doesn't really need A/C should you NEED to pay that $500 extra?

Not really the best analogy, but I hope you see what he/I mean.

Amazon told you that's the reason they raised their prices? That's the assumption that I'm doubting here.

Direct quote from Amazon website:
"Why is the price of Amazon Prime changing?

We've increased the annual fee of Amazon Prime membership to £79 to include the added benefit of Prime Instant Video."

...... hope that's not too difficult to understand

However, your favorite artist's music will not start playing for 6-8 weeks because they are currently being blocked by Jeff Bezos.

Is there a way to play all songs?

I was playing with it last night and I can't figure out -- is there a way to shuffle through all the songs in their entire library? When I go to a Genre, and click songs, it lists 60 songs, even though there are thousands listed on the website (I tried this on the iPhone and iPad players). I can find things by searching, but only a few things by browsing.

I tried going to the website to see if I can load all songs into a playlist but it seems you have to do them one at a time. Any ideas?

By the way, I ran across the best playlist title ever: "Endless Bummer": Wanna feel all the sads? Here are some songs sure to turn any smile upside down.

Huh?
Roku, Apple TV, iPhone, Android, PC & Mac not enough? (I don't know if they run on Windows Phones or not)

Amazon does not support streaming video to Android...that also means they don't support streaming video to ChromeCast.

I already love Prime, it's a massive bargain, even at $99.

Now I get music streaming for NO additional charge.

What's not to like?

Exactly. The cost of the other streaming services is just music, not so with Amazon Prime and I feel it is worth the money.

Exactly my point versus what folks are paying monthly with other resources. I have not tracked what I have saved in shipping costs alone let alone what else Prime offers.

Got to use amazon's website as the resource and a browser that supports Flash. That is how I get streaming video on Android for some of the tablets I have.

Yep, because they added HBO's content. That's THE sole reason for the increase. Streaming music has nothing to do with it, WHICH IS WHAT THIS POST IS ABOUT. Hope that's not super difficult for you to understand.

Very weak catalog. More of a launch so they can say they launched. But nobody is going to buy a Prime membership for this.

True it is weak but is that all Amazon Prime is offering?

----------

Curious, would Amazon add more music to Prime slowly? Not talking about new music but there is so much missing I am hoping they get more record labels agreement or else this will get boring the same songs for a year just saying.

Prime is 2-day free shipping on a lot of items(not all), a fairly large video streaming library and now this limp music service.

I am a Amazon Prime I know that that was not my point  Why are people complaining that Amazon added more features even if it is not good? And obviously not all are 2 day shipping only items that say Prime I mean that is clearly stated when you sign up people can not be that stupid, this attitude reminds me when I was working at retail store the dumbest complains customers have when it is just the policy and not me making them.

----------

Sigh, just notice 3 Albums under Prime Music no longer works they were removed, what a shame Amazon seriously needs to get on top of this if they want to be in the game I know there next big marketing will be Cell Phone but I rather see this get improved first.

We were talking about the UK

Does th world need another streaming music service though? My goodness, accu radio takes care of my needs along with all of the other digital music I already have. Amazon prime is a solid service though and I'll stick with it even at $100 bucks a year. Free two day shipping on several purchases more than cover it.

Hey, anything to make the competition squirm a bit is good with me. The more, the better. If this makes apple do something constructive to their products or services then that's great for the consumer.

I completely agree. The more they have to compete for our attention, the cheaper and better services we will be offered. Not to mention that I am an amazon fangirl
