The thing is that the price of RAM has plummeted and that the cost to Apple to double RAM capacity from 8 to 16 GB is far less than $200 USD, and the base model is lackluster compared to Apple competitors. Unfortunately this model works because they've designed their products not to be upgradeable and customers are paying through the nose for this... or replacing their older computers sooner.

As such I can take pride in deciding not to buy this MacBook, given that it's just as much the consumers' choice as that of the business. If enough like me were to exist, it would force Apple to change... but there aren't.

Sounds like you are just complaining about Apple products being pricey, because certainly the base model is not lackluster compared to Apple competitors' base models.

But I agree that Apple is sandbagging us a bit with RAM pricing. Because IMO everyone should be buying higher levels of RAM, and Apple's high RAM prices force RAM levels lower than they should be.

I would rather buy through apple and feel better knowing the product works and the price is fair.
AND we usually get the  product the next day from , not some creep.

Is there anyone else tired of every Mac or Apple News and review website
insists on buying  products through amazon?
I stopped visiting these biased sites for good.

thems will execute me soon for this post!
