Amazon's third annual "Prime Day" has just kicked off, with Amazon offering 30 hours of "epic 'day of' deals on everything you're into." Deals will change continually over the course of the next day, and Amazon is expected to offer discounts on a range of products, including Apple devices and accessories.

The products that are discounted will be a surprise until each "Lightning" sale kicks off, so it's best to keep a close eye on Amazon's site if you're interested in a specific product. Some of the best deals can also sell out fast, so we won't be able to share all of the available deals, but we'll try to tweet some of the best discounts.

Amazon plans to organize deals around more than 20 themes, like pet lovers, gardeners, techies, artists, and more, which should make it easy to track down the products you're looking for.

Prime Day will last from July 10 at 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time to July 11 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Prime Day deals will be available in 13 countries, including the United States, UK, Spain, Mexico, Italy, Japan, India, France, Germany, China, Canada, Belgium, and Austria. A Prime membership is required to take advantage of the deals.

Along with Amazon, many major retailers will be offering discounts on iPhones, iPads, Macs, and other Apple accessories this week, including Best Buy, Adorama, and B&H Photo. For the best prices on Apple products, make sure to check out our Deals Roundup, which has comprehensive price charts available.

I wish I needed anything during this sale but I don't. I started the one month free Prime trial and I will cancel it before the month is over because I just don't buy enough on Amazon to pay $10 per month.

I did buy a printer two weeks ago and paid for one hr shipping just to try it out. Good luck to those shopping during the sale.

I continue to be amazed by the amount of free publicity and advertising that Amazon receives. CNN was littered with "articles" about the company. We wonder why the retailer sector is dying. Here you have a company that has not earned a dime in the first decade or more, didn't have to collect a tax until recently and continues to get free publicity. They treat employees like **** and have ruined a good number of suppliers.

And we call this "free market economy."

The worse part is that I still buy from them. A lot. Because if there is one thing that we, the American consumer, love the most is a good deal on something we probably don't need. :D

You complain about Amazon, and then you blame your own actions on "we". Either don't complain, or be the change you want to see. Just my personal opinion.

Any one else think this is a little gross? We don't need another overly commercial "holiday"
What, people practically killing each other for Black Friday deals seems a bit much? Seriously though, I've grown a bit sick of it too. I try to stay out of the spending spree part of holidays. Be the change, etc.

Amazon will get press no matter what they do. They are just so big and getting much bigger. I don't like how they are hammering actual brick and mortar stores that have much higher overhead, but they are.

Interesting times we are living in.

It gets a lot of air time because a lot of people are very interested in it.

Retailers are dying because times are changing and the reasons to shop there are becoming less and less compelling. It sucks for them, but the world constantly evolves and if you don't keep up price-wise or service-wise, the brutal truth is you probably don't have a good business model. The amount of stuff I buy at Amazon is steadily increasing as they offer a huge selection and have made it so freaking easy to order.

Well done for being part of their (and Wallyworld's) plan to be the onlt retailers left standing.
I for one, buy local and avoid the mega retailers if at all possible.
Amazon already takes 40% of all on-line spend. IMHO, that is around 30% too much.

Here in the U.K. as well:)

Picked up the son a cracking Dell i5 laptop with SSD, 8GB RAM, 1080p screen and 4GB AMD graphics... open box with additional 20% discount = £375. 13th birthday next month....

Also grabbed an Echo Dot for £35, and patiently awaiting the imminent release of the Alexa/Sonos integration to be launched....

Oh look! Another Amazon sale - where nothing you wanted is discounted. Also, Amazon seem to be playing fast and loose with advertised discounts, claiming them to be much deeper than they actually would be if you paid the pre-sale Amazon price. Discounts are listed in relation to RRP, not their regular Amazon price. Which is cheeky, if I may say so.

The deals on Amazon Echo are very good though. A great time to pick up an Echo if you haven't already, much more reasonable prices for these things.

Meh. Amazon sales are little more than a tactic to temporarily increase foot traffic to the site - but that was obvious. The deals are rarely good, and usually misleading.

I'm largely underwhelmed by what's being offered, yes the Echo and Dot are heavily discounted, but I don't need or want them. I'm not seeing much else in terms of savings. I will offer a caveat in that my search is limited
