Does anyone know if Best Buy price matches on Amazon Prime prices?

I'm in the 15 day return period for an item I purchased a Best Buy last week & now it's discounted for Prime Day.

I've seen conflicting statements online that they'll only price match non Prime Day Amazon prices, while other articles have a more general statement that they will....

Curious if anyone if anyone has priced matched anything today.

Doesn't hurt to go down there to try.

Haven't seen anything great on Amazon. I did buy the R2-D2 Droid from Best Buy though for$40! Was just looking at this this weekend but didn't want to drop $180.

It's unbelievable that Prime Day is still resulting in errors and blank search results 4 hours later.

Yeah, I have my receipt. Just going to try & see what they say!

Yeah, I've tried on multiple devices & still getting errors. Sometimes it'll work, other times there's errors!

Thanks for doing this, MacRumors! I pretty much ignored Prime Day last year, but without having to sort through all the sales myself, I actually found a couple decent deals on things I could use (the best of which, ironically, wasn't even on Amazon).

P.S. For anyone complaining that Prime Day prices aren't necessarily a deal, https://camelcamelcamel.com is your friend. There are legitimate deals to be had, but you're right, there are also things you could get cheaper elsewhere or by waiting. (Hence why I'm not sure it's really worth the time to manually sort through all the non-deals to find something decent.) Yeah, it's a little disappointing if you haven't been following Prime Day or were expecting Amazon to do something different this time around, but this is literally always how Amazon operates.

They have the Anova on sale for $129.99. It’s often at that price. I got it earlier today for $69.99. Might want to keep an eye on it if you’re interested in one.

Prime: " There's a sucker born every minute". Attributed to P.T. Barnum. "Deals" suck this year. Do they think we are stupid? or just suckers?

I have to commend Amazon for at least putting up pictures of employees dogs when their site/apps weren't working for the vast majority of customers yesterday (sorry, I'm a big dog person).

But today is a new day. I personally have not found anything worth buying yet.

it was a sale on amazon stuff more than anything
i usually use it as a excuse to top up on new amazonbasics rechargeable batteries other than that no real great sales

remember its never saving money if you wouldnt have bought it otherwise

Any recommendations on smart plugs? Doing general browsing & trying to think of things that could possibly be Prime day specials.

Amazon acknowledged that the Prime Day deals aren't their best prices on those items.

But MacRumors wants to be sure to get in on this by posting affiliate links and making money off anything you order.

Of course MacRumors wants to make money off the links. It spent its resources compiling this list, which is one of the best I've seen. Why wouldn't we click through if we learned of a deal here?

Yes, MR does disclose their affiliate relationships, and that's all well and good. Yet the disclosures provide the impression that MR is a charity that we can support with these purchases. In reality, this site is a for-profit business.

I'm genuinely curious what you've seen here that suggests this site is a not-for-profit business. I've been hanging out here for years and have never had that impression.

I've never had that impression because I know better. But this is what I am talking about:

Note: MacRumors is an affiliate partner with Amazon. When you click a link and make a purchase, we may receive a small payment, which helps us keep the site running.

Name another for-profit business that solicits "help" in making a profit. That last clause is disingenuous and should go. And also this:

Name another for-profit business that solicits "contributions."

Thanks a lot to the MacRumors staff for this blog. The best deals I picked up were due to this.

I held off on buying anything from Amazon the last couple weeks to see if things I needed were discounted. One item, a UV cell phone sanitizer was not on sale, but I bought it anyways (tired of my wife damaging my cases and phone screen with alcohol *rollseyes). Less than an hour later it popped up as a lightning sale and I saw it here. Canceled my order and bought it again for half price.

Would have liked the essential phone had it been available in the UK. Otherwise there wasn’t anything interesting for me.

Put the list back up. I bookmarked it. I like to see what I missed. I already ordered something today that I saw before you removed the list. I paid $2 more by missing “Prime Day”.

There was some good stuff on there.
