Nope, their service in Denmark is in no way wort that price.
Since we have a small selection of series and movies on primevideo. no free same days shipping, and other services it Is just to much to pay. They had a €2,99 which was fine for what you were getting (would be ok if it got a little price hike, but not much)

I really like Amazon. Just bought a new $2K Sony TV there. It arrived with free delivery and set-up in 6 days and in perfect condition. Another excellent Amazon experience and I'm certain that the company would have made it right if something had gone belly-up.

That said, I dropped AP when it jumped from $79 to $99. Just didn't see the purported value any longer and haven't missed it at all. I'm totally content waiting for stuff to arrive via free shipping. The other day, for example, I bought a blu-ray that won't arrive until May 10-22 -- guess it's coming from Mongolia by camel or something. But who cares? It's just stuff. Most things actually arrive within 4-5 business days or less, but if it's something I actually need urgently I'll spring for 2-day shipping.

As for Prime Video and the other extras, bleh - Netflix streaming, Xfinity-TV on-demand and Spotify serve up enough to keep me satisfied. And TTTT I was never impressed with Amazon's movie catalogue. Also, the few times over the years that an incorrect item arrived or something arrived damaged, I've always had excellent experiences with Amazon customer service even without shelling out for a Prime membership.

I assume that Amazon’s Prime Video is just the selection of freebies they offer if you are a Prime member.

Yep, the selection is getting better but most of the video on Amazon is either rent or pay for.

I don't have AP because I don't think it is worth it.

Like you, I just make sure my order is big enough to qualify for free standard shopping and I don't care if it takes a week to get here (I think my orders average about 5 days).

I also shop around online for the best prices. Amazon is no longer the cheapest in many cases and they no longer price match except TVs. Often, retailers will also have free two day shipping to their local stores. If I had AP, I would feel obligated to order from Amazon to justify the $119 yearly cost so I would be paying that on top of the higher Amazon price (in many cases).

As far as video, the Amazon Prime catalog is getting bigger but I would rather put my money into a Netflix subscription than an Amazon Prime subscription.

Like most people, I'll grumble about the price, but I'll suck it up and I'll just pay it.

My recommendation for most people is to cancel Amazon Prime when your year's subscription is up. Then, like cord cutting, give it a try without Amazon Prime for a month or two. If you miss it, just resubscribe. If you don't find yourself missing it, you just saved $119 .

Last I checked, the amount you needed for free shipping without Prime was $35. I wonder if that went up too?

It keeps changing. I looked today and it was $25.

I voted as a "Maybe". I have been looking really hard at walmart and like others have said, amazon is not the cheapest spot to go anymore.

My recommendation is that you cancel your membership when it expires.

Try it for a little while without Prime to see if you really miss it. If you miss it, easily re-subscribe. Otherwise, you just saved some money.

At the very least canceling it (even temporarily) will show your dissatisfaction with the price increase when Amazon is claiming record profits.

While I find Amazon to be a very convenient way to shop online…. I can foresee that Amazon will eventually become kinda like that hated $250 bloated cable bundle bill that everyone loathed in the past.

Amazon Prime = at least $120

Plus pay more for Prime Music (unlimited streaming) subscription
Plus pay more for Amazon Groceries (you have little choice in the future, they will destroy many grocery chains)
Plus pay more for Amazon Internet (their own fiber-optic service to compete with Google, Verizon, etc)
Plus pay more for Amazon Rx (you live in a cave if you didn't hear that Amazon wants to become an online pharmacy, drug dealer, intends to compete with CVS Walgreens RiteAid)
Plus pay more for individual "premium channels" or premium bundles like ESPN, HBO, The Black Network, etc.
