Amazon today is matching an all-time low price on the Studio Display, now available for $1,299.99, down from $1,599.99. This is the standard glass version of the Studio Display with the tilt adjustable stand, and it currently has an estimated February 23 delivery date for Prime shipping.

The Studio Display features a 27-inch 5K retina display with a 5120 x 2880 resolution and up to 600 nits of brightness. Discounts on the Studio Display have been very rare over the past few months, and this is only the second time in 2024 that we've tracked a record low price on any version of the monitor.

If you want to upgrade to the nano-texture glass option, Amazon also has this model of the Studio Display on sale. It's available for $1,599.99, down from $1,899.99, which is a second-best price on the Studio Display with nano-texture glass.

Apple says that the standard display is engineered for "extremely low reflectivity," but for rooms where there is a lot of glare, Apple suggests the nano-texture glass option with even less reflectivity.

Keep up with all of this week's best discounts on Apple products and related accessories in our dedicated Apple Deals roundup.

Samsung's 5K monitor is half the price on sale. Dell's 6K monitor is half the price of Apple's 6K monitor.
Anyway I get what you're saying but for me personally anything other than oled is a no go. I got a 32" 4K monitor I bought for 300$ and I'm fine for now. If I upgrade to something it has to be 2x better.

I bought one of these at full retail price on launch. Bought it just to test it and couldn’t give it back. It’s awesome.

While it doesn’t necessarily compete on paper specs, it offers a mixed bag of intangible benefits over other non-Apple displays if you use a Mac.

Fully integrated brightness and volume controls, decent speakers with Spatial Audio, excellent power management (it won’t turn on or off in the middle of the night [Dell, I’m pointing at you] and it always lights up when my Mac wakes), and a webcam good enough for zoom that ALWAYS works.

It’s just a joy to use. People complain about no HDR, but at 600nits it’s really bright and more HDR than 300-500nit displays which claim HDR. Im not a graphics pro, but the colors look good to my eyes. I can only measure it subjectively vs my M1 Pros display, but it looks right.

At this price I might pick up a second one.

Off topic I know but…I have been wanting to buy a couple Apple thunderbolt displays for my work from home setup as they’re really cheap now, has anyone had any luck using these with a usb c hub? Basically I want to be able to plug in and charge my work laptop with just one cable, skipping MagSafe

It's been this price at Best Buy for a week or so... Might have some open boxes in your area if you're looking.

I ended up buying the Alogic 27" 4k since it's onsale at various places for $639 and has some pretty decent reviews so far. Tempted for the Touchscreen version.

Me, I just wanted the path of least resistance, but regarding your Dell issues the fact that Macs don't have proper support for DPDS (and Windows 11 does for example) isn't a feature, *and* you probably cheaped out on the cable (which is probably a big part of why all Apple monitors include cables, for people who will blame their 💩 decisions on everyone but themselves lol).

If you are on the fence, this is a great screen to get! I was on the fence for a long time, but 5k is a noticeable improvement over a 4k panel of the same size. The details and the way macOS scales works better on a 5k. Plus you some really great sounding computer speakers and an ok/good webcam, all built in. I think the webcam is good and decent, but the speakers are really pretty good.

I picked up the VESA version as an open box and love it. It is on a monitor arm that allows it to just "float" above my desk.

For those looking for HDR or 120hz, those will come in a few years when TB5 arrives due to the bandwidth needs.

I have one of these. It's a great display. If you're on the fence pull the trigger now.
Agree. I'm a huge fan. I got the lowest price design on swappa for 1K. Been really happy with it. Wouldn't mind the height adjustment since we use it as a family computer (family has ipad air/pro for daily use/school) and with kids using this, the ability to change the height for kids and adults would be nice, but we make it work. I had a dell hooked up to the mini, and it was fine, but much happier with the studio display instead.

No 120hz, no deal.
What would you do with this monitor that 120 would make an improvement over 60? I'm not saying your wrong, just curious. I went from a 14 pro to a 15 regular phone and I don't notice any difference. Now I do have the ipad pro 12.9 but more for the brightness than for the 120hz.

I still have and use my '04 Cinema 30. I am waiting for a cheaper Pro XDR or a new 30-32 Studio. The Studio needs to be without cameras, speakers, A-series SOCs... etc. I just want a high quality display panel (much like the XDR).

Is there a reason for choosing the Apple Thunderbolt Display? I used to want one specifically because I wanted to have as close to zero cables as possible. But, if you're talking about getting a hub (or docking station?) the one cable setup is further from reality than ever. I eventually went with two BenQ 27" 1440p (same specs as Thunderbolt Display, if I'm not mistaken) displays connected through a CalDigit TS4. Works well for me. Cables are a fact of life but there are ways to make them not as visible.
