Yeah. Even I was surprised to note that MacRumours thinks Apple TV+ as a competitor to any of the other platforms as of today. I have literally not opened the app in the past two months and I open all the other apps regularly.

Is competitor even the right term to use here? I am not limited to one video streaming service, so it’s hardly a winner-takes-all market here. The user is free to subscribe to as many services as they want, based on what original content they want to watch, so Apple is free to play the long game and slowly build up their content of original content, even as the market goes through multiple rounds of upheaval and consolidation (making content isn’t cheap).

Still though, that’s only thirteen years. Wouldn’t have thought they’ll get many films out in that time.

Could be that there's revived interest by then (if they can find a way to modernize the concept).

MGM/Amazon does not own The Wizard of Oz. Warner Brothers has control of 99% of the MGM catalogue before 1986. Rocky is one of the few exceptions. All the classic stuff MGM produced back in the Golden Age of Hollywood belongs to Warner at this point.
So Amazon really just purchase nothing in content along with $2 billion of MGM debt for $8.5 billions? Amazon actually paid $10.5 billion for nothing? These guys at Amazon are not very bright! Look at how Amazon cannot figure out what they are getting almost zero content and inherited additional $2 billion of debt in the process! LOL! Looks like the top management are to cheap to hire a CPA to look at this deal! Cost them maybe $1K for an opinion, save Amazon $10.499,999,000 in losses. Does Amazon have an investment banker to advise them?

Forget James Bond. I want more Stargate. Universe started out kinda bad, but got better and it ended too early.
I rather have brand new Stargate SG-1 then the SGU continuing on! It was a pretty unwatchable Stargate franchise for me! Character were very strange and storyline is from 1960s Lost In Space TV show but shot in a unlit sound stage. Everything was in shadows and hard to see.

Talk to a 3rd year college finance major who said that Amazon’s top management has all sorts of finance guys at a company as big as Amazon that are Master Degrees in Finance and Accounting in the company! The CFO has a Master Degree in Business and been a CPA too! LOL! My guess is the board of directors do not know anything about how to run a business!
